Bringing the Abuelita Masala mural to life was an incredible journey, made even more special by the amazing community that welcomed me with open arms! This mural, set against a structure designed by the talented team at @aplusaplusa , now stands as a symbol of joy and heritage in the neighborhood.
A huge thank you to @siurbancenter for trusting me with this vision and to all the residents, store owners, and community members who joined me in the painting process and shared their stories and excitement for the piece. Your joy has been infectious and your stories are woven into every brushstroke🥲🙏🏾

if you’ve been here for a while, you’ve probably seen a mix of things: design projects, @justmakespace , craft experiments, hosting, travel, pole, and whatever new hobby i’ve decided to pick up that week.
thought i’d do a mini introduction to who i am, what i do, and some of the curiosities that connects it all.
anyway, hi 👋🏽

reviving the sketchbook as my favorite travel companion while staying creative on the go🧚🏽 this year, i plan to fill up at least one @moleskine with sketches. there was a time when i used to fill up one in a MONTH, but baby steps 🥲
january typically demands a new journal, and what’s more honest than writing into something you made yourself? 🗝️🧚🏽
join me in playing with leather this january 18th at our first @justmakespace event of the year!

i hosted one of my fav @justmakespace editions ever this weekend + i got to do it with my sisters 💛💛💛
when i first set out for Make Space-ing this year, i told myself i wasn’t going to overplan (again) or put pressure on it. just host when i could, keep it light, and let the community shape itself, and see what forms it takes. i was just happy to make room for play, connection, and creativity when/however life allowed. but somehow, between my fifty-leven other projects and jobs and responsibilities, it’s held this steady rhythm, with one gathering every month so far, without fail.
i’m learning a lot about letting go of expectations while still showing up. it’s become a practice, a reminder that consistency doesn’t have to come from pressure, it can come from flow.
+ look out! bc it feels like fall is rolling in fast and the cozy crafty calendar is already filling up…✨🌊
follow @justmakespace to keep up!💛
i held space yesterday,
but somehow it held me too.
kids drawing galaxies in chalk,
elders moving like their bodies remembered joy,
and me—somewhere in between—
soft, cracked open,
reminded why i do this.
why play is sacred.
why WE are sacred.
@justmakespace and @letsplaynyc@saharamone_@makemanifestbk conspired to make this happen @tamabedstuy , and i’m so proud of us.
