We have been in our studio 2 years this May 🎉
And 4 years of Studio Swade… 🤯
@deepa.chudasama took this picture and made me laugh as it kind of reflects how I have camouflaged into the business which i suppose is maybe inevitable…
And its made me reflect on where I’m at and where I’m heading.
✋I wanted to create a space for myself that i could be using my hands making, less computers please.
⏳ I wanted to have more control over how i spent my time…. getting a monthly pay check is amazing but days and weeks were disappearing - i think i probably work more now than i did before but ya know!
🤑 I needed to make enough money to be able to cover my bases, mortgage bills and food…. With enough for some beers at the end, but knew I would be taking a pay cut…
🙏 Its been amazing/ exhausting/ exciting/ and scary at times, but Im so happy all the lovely projects and chairs that have thru my doors, and allowed me to create that space i was craving
🐭🧠 off to plan out some goals for the next few years…

Get in the chair… GET IN IT!! This guys back and arm where in great shape but springs had gone in the seat so had to come out completely which means i can get IN the chair. Which makes life much easier 😂

Not only does it look beautiful, but it also adds a huge amount of storage to the space. We generally prefer drawers over lift-up lids, especially this side drawer allowing for easy everyday access.

Tailored to your chair 🪑 Its like getting a bespoke suit made…. Pin, measure mark, tweak for a perfect fit! (Its why it will cost more than something off a factory line)
This lovely tradition chair was in better shape than we thought and as the webbing and springs where all firm and secure just a refresh and recover was all that was needed, horse hair and traditional materials last so much longer, a foam seat would have disintegrated into nothing by now 🐎🔥
