If your home feels dark or disconnected, the layout is often the real issue not the size of the space.
In this project, our designer sketches out a smarter downstairs layout based on how natural light already moves through the property. With north facing upwards, the kitchen and closed-off garage were receiving most of the daylight, while the rear living areas felt much darker and underused.
By rethinking the flow of the ground floor, we can:
• Improve natural light distribution
• Create better connections between rooms
• Make the space feel larger and more functional
• Design around how the homeowners actually live
