One of the major things I was passionate about when I started my business was that I would keep my printing in-house as much as possible (I do have a degree in printmaking after all), and so far that is the case. It might mean that I'm slower at producing more designs but it means each one is considered and printed slow. No instant gratification here. #shopslow #shoplocal View all of my prints online at caradonaghey.com #printmakingprocess #buydonegal

A wee vlog about my experience printing "Granny's Shopping List, Nov 1964" in @pagemasters.co last month ♡ Impossible to squeeze all my thoughts in under 60 seconds. But I also wrote a blog which you can read over on my website ☆ (writing a blog feels very 2008 coded and I love it). Thanks to Ed and Jordan for the time, sharing of knowledge and the craic too. It really reminded me of the core ethos of printmaking, which is accessibility, affordability and collaboration 🤝 and I hope to bring something like their drop-in sessions to @derryprintworkshop sometime in the future. This print has proven more popular than I expected, as I really did it as a personal project to challenge myself technically. It has led me in a new direction, prompted lots of conversations and unearthed stories of times gone by. Which is what my work is all about 🫶 A @scenerycoffee cameo there at the end too, sitting going thru my zines and journals and soaking up that big city energyyyy 🌀 Read my blog and shop the print over on caradonaghey.com 🔗 #risoprint #risographprint #irishprints

Rosta x Opal Coffee We are excited to be hosting a relaxed evening of comparative coffee tasting at @rosta.coffeebar , on Friday 15th May. This is a chance to try different filter coffees from the menu, discover what flavours you like and expand your palate in a relaxed, informal setting. You'll get a chance to learn about the flavour profiles and origins of each coffee on the menu and pick up some brewing tips too. The evening will feature new coffee-themed Riso prints designed and printed locally by Cara at @studiosuili . Plus your ticket will also include an exclusive 15% off retail bags of coffee on the night ☕️ Perfect for people interested in specialty coffee but who don’t know where to start, or for the more seasoned coffee drinker looking for a chance to try some new flavours. Booking through eventbrite, link in bio 🔗 @opal.roast @rosta.coffeebar @studiosuili

A relic of a time gone by - my Granny Donaghey's shopping receipt (that doubles as a shopping list) with the usual “messages” on it, from McGonagle’s shop on Buncrana Main Street. This was the biggest conversation starter at my last market, I think because it's evidence of a simpler and more personal time. The original receipt was written in a mix of pencil and blue biro. I think the groceries were “paid in” for in advance, as it says “less overpaid” at the bottom. It’s the usual bits and pieces - tea, sugar, butter, cheese, a tin of fruit cocktail, and soap, amongst other things. I printed this in PageMasters Riso Print Shop in London as part of their drop-in sessions. It’s a three-colour risograph print, on Cairn Recycled 100gsm paper, using Sunflower Yellow, Medium Blue and Black. Size: A3 29.7 × 42cm This is a Limited Edition of 40. Each print is signed and numbered by myself. You can read more about this print on my blog post on my website.
