Listening to Rachel Doolin talk about Svalbard over dinner one night, I felt that feeling you feel when you meet someone's truth. The rest of the story + the short film "temporal landscapes" here: /ancestralnature/racheld Rachel Doolin is an artist based in the South of Ireland. Her interdisciplinary practice merges art, experimentation and ecology of place. #arctic, #art, #sound, #racheldoolin, #glaciers

Another from my archive of ice – "Time and Water" - A portrait of kin, inspired by Andri Snaer Magnason's book (@andrimagnason ) , which asks us to rethink the future as more than a distant concept. Thinking 100, 200 years ahead, through our children, their children, and everyone who will bear witness. Seeing the climate crisis not just through science, but through the human relationships that carry it forward.

Revisiting my photographic works and sifting through my archive of ice. “Momentum Temporis” – a moment in time, captured at Vatnajökull National Park during my time @simresidency . An ice boulder dominates the terrain like an extraterrestrial mass, weighted and present. #amomentintime

Sadly what goes up must eventually come down! A big thank you to @glor_ennis for hosting Heirloom over the last few months and to their fantastic technician Aidan, with whom I managed to pack up the exhibition in record time! For now it's back to storage crates in the shed, while I continue working on a small publication that will quite literally bookend this journey! For reading in the immediate term there is a really lovely critique of Heirloom in The Van @visualartistsireland by artist and researcher Gianna Tomasso. A warm thanks to the author @visualartistsireland .

A lovely workshop this afternoon @glor_ennis . I'm always in awe of the seemingly limitless imagination of young persons. This curious hybrid is giving me Karl Blossfeldt vibes! I love it! #ArtWorkShops #Heirloom #Seedarium#Seedcloud #glorennis

It’s a hot evening ...inside and outside the studio! I've carved out a bit of time to play, experiment, and keep learning in the studio. This relatively new material journey began in 2023 with a beginner’s glass lampworking course with @aspencerglass , followed by a masterclass in 2024. After that, I was fortunate to receive a bursary from @corkcitycouncil , allowing me to continue my development through a mentorship with the amazing Andrea. It’s been a slow process, but over the past few months, I’ve finally set up my own small-scale glass lampworking bench in my studio! The good news is I haven't burnt myself yet!! #SlowProcess #GlassFlameWorking #StudioPlay #NewMaterial #MoltenGlass#fypage
