The Blue Lamp continues Studio Peake’s long collaboration with Rupert Merton, whose ceramics move beyond function into art. Each piece is hand-thrown on the potter’s wheel, forming a tall, monolithic silhouette that emphasises the quiet strength and simplicity of the material. Subtle shifts in proportion and surface arise through the making process, ensuring that every lamp carries the trace of the maker’s hand. The ceramic body is finished in a deep ultramarine glaze developed by Rupert through years of experimentation.

Each bedside is crafted in our Norfolk workshop and available in natural oak or hand-painted finishes, allowing the surface to reveal the warmth and texture of the material.

Each frame is painted by hand in our London workshop, allowing the natural movement of the brushstrokes to remain visible across the surface. These subtle variations bring depth and texture to the piece, giving it a quiet sense of rhythm and craftsmanship.
