Almost the whole Studio Nitsche joined Philipp Nitsche during his artist residency in Los Angeles, Günsterode in summer, to build the first part of the "Rudihouse".
This pavillon-like structure consists of a round deck and an oven. In part two, it will be completed with a roof and a weatherproof curtain.
Then will be revealed that the oven is not only the heart of the house, but in this case also the structural centerpiece.
Presented during "La II barnale" in LA, the Rudihouse quickly became the compounds monkey rock, with people gathering on the deck and kids climbing the oven.
What a very nice summer day!

Our furniture for the Etel Adnan Exhibition @lenbachhaus The furniture in the exhibition-stools, benches, tables, and the education area -was designed and produced in an interdisciplinary workshop by carpenter apprentices and architecture students. Chief targets were the recycling of materials from a former exhibition at the Lenbachhaus, and the construction of the furniture with simple plug-in connectors. The finished furniture deliberately shows the upcycling process, surfaces were not embellished, and the constructive connections are visible.
Concept and planning: @studionitsche with the kind support of Hans Schmidt
carpenters workshop: Tobias Lippenberger, Eric Ludwig, Luis Großmann, Moritz Jolitz (apprentices), Benedikt Raidl (master carpenter), @daphnemariie Sophie von Waldenfels (architecture students) and Nico Goebel (architect).
