What connects us is not a shared language, but our passage through languages not a common territory, but our intersections within space. Topology replaces geometry; the world is defined not by distance, but by shifting proximity. The world is composed of differences, not sameness and within this timeless, placeless state, we dwell in a moment still becoming.

Collaborator spotlight: we were just the absolute luckiest to be able to work with @studiomelli , an independent graphic design practice based in Tehran and the Hague with a bold focus on multilingual typography and visual identity design, founded by @mahsagholinejad & @omidnemalhabib . When envisioning a landscape that could reflect the concepts underlying the design of our typeface Mazhik, they did a deep dive into historical Iranian literary texts and philosophy that transcends borders and boundaries. It’s this kind of thinking that makes the visual language of Studio Melli, and we are just so incredibly thankful for their fantastic work. In collaboration with our friends @sahafshar & @jmsole.cl at @dograytype , we worked with their newly released typeface 𝑴𝒂𝒛𝒉𝒊𝒌 to explore the echoes of Suhrawardi’s philosophy of “seeing”, where sight drifts free from the senses and turns inward. Through this experimentation, we reflect on “seeing” beyond perception, letting “Type” become a vessel for thought and a structure for contemplation. What remains when sight is untethered from the senses? @studiomelli used our font Mazhik to frame this ancient inquiry from Suhrawardi. Their design is a speculation in type, a lattice built to support a philosophy of internal revelation. An ongoing book cover project for 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘗𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯’𝘴 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘤 𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴: from scores and theory to landmark translations into Farsi. Designed with clarity and typographic voice to shape a unified narrative. For Perso/Arabic type we use 𝘈𝘴𝘯𝘢𝘢𝘥-𝘦-𝘔𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪 in four weights, designed and developed over recent years. For the Latin pair we first worked with 𝘋𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘔𝘰𝘯𝘰 from 𝘉𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘍𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘳𝘺. Made for the very first release from the @vali_project , titled Canta and Dance for Flute and Piano. Using our custom typographic tool, we explored the relationship between sequencing, distortion in music composition, and the proportions of letterforms. This reflection helps us capture the essence and spirit of the music we work with. Vali Project: A Reflection on Contemporary Iranian Composition A glimpse into Vali Project, an ongoing exploration dedicated to archiving and publishing works of contemporary Iranian music, both digitally and in print. More than a visual identity, this project seeks to build a living visual/cultural language one shaped by the deep interplay between Iranian music and geometry, yet open to the fluidity of today’s artistic conversations. The young art students at Kherad High School in Tehran, guided by Mahsa Gholinejad, dedicated part of their typography workshop to honoring and commemorating Parvaneh Etemadi, a prominent and influential contemporary artist. In this analog experience, inspired by Etemadi’s work, the students expressed their personal perceptions through a combination of visual and typographic elements, shaped by close observation and deep engagement. Their creations reflect the heartfelt expressions of a passionate generation, formed through hands–on, exploratory processes rooted in encounters with Parvaneh Etemadi’s life, art, and vision. These works remind us that Parvaneh is still alive, continuing, evolving, and resonating. — @mahsagholinejad @kherad_artschool — دختران نوجوان هنرستان خرد در تهران، با راهنمايي مهسا قلی‌نژاد بخشی از كارگاه تایپوگرافى خود را به ادای احترام و یادبود پروانه اعتمادی، هنرمند برجسته و تأثیرگذار معاصر، اختصاص دادند. در این تجربه‌ی آنالوگ که با الهام از آثار پروانه اعتمادی شکل گرفت، هنرجویان برداشت‌های شخصی خود را از طریق ترکیب عناصر تصویری و تایپوگرافیک و بر پایه‌ی مشاهده‌ی دقیق و درک عمیق بیان کردند. آثار آن‌ها بازتابى صمیمی از نسلی پرشور است که با تجربه‌هايي دست‌ساز و اکتشافى، در مواجهه با زندگى، هنر و نگاه پروانه اعتمادی شکل گرفته‌اند. این آثار به ما یادآوری می‌کنند که پروانه همچنان زنده است، در حال ادامه، تحول و تأثیرگذاری. — #پروانه_اعتمادی #parvanehetemadi
