👋 It felt like it was time again to introduce myself for those of you who are new here – you often see my art, but not me! I’m Lisa, the illustrator behind Studio Lisa. I recently had the joy of illustrating for ‘Ik voel wat ik voel’, a dream project that beautifully aligns with my passion for mental health – a theme close to my heart. As someone who’s faced anxiety and panic attacks since I was 14, I’ve come to see art as a powerful way to express emotions and foster understanding.
I never attended art school; I simply followed my love for drawing and one day took a leap of faith to make it my career. Now, I create illustrations that tell meaningful stories for books, magazines, advertisements, and more. Bringing complex emotions and concepts to life through art is what I love most.
I currently live in Ghent with my amazing partner of 13 years, Jaap, and our rescue dog Mokka – a childhood dream come true at 31.

Mind and Motion in Low Back Pain 🧠
Sometimes a project becomes something deeply personal.
I had the honor of illustrating the cover for this PhD, written by my partner of 14 years, Jaap.
I wove in his love for forests and nature, with a hyacinth as a quiet, personal symbol, while translating the research into a layered visual.

Dipping into a new world of color with the HIMI gouache set🎨✨
Just a loose little illustration to explore the paint and get a feel for the materials, more like a quiet first experiment than anything else.
I really enjoyed the process of just playing with color and texture, without overthinking it. I’ve been struggeling with nerve pains in my hand for the last two months, so it felt really good to be able to paint for a bit again. Still need to take it slow, but we are getting there!
