Nothing I love more than playing around with a gallery wall, paying attention to shape, form and colour. Finding surprising combinations, antique sitting next to contemporary, gold sitting next bold and a happy mix of complimentary and contrasting colours.

A quick trip across the channel sourcing for what we’re now calling “Hoc Stock”. It was an early start in Amiens, searching the never ending streets by torch light and eventually warmed by the morning sunshine, a cup of coffee and the obligatory pain au chocolat.
Busy few days now while we replace glass, add new fixings and in some cases making entirely new frames all in time for @clemsfairs this Friday 24th & Saturday 25th. Followed by a really exciting pop-u @the.curatedstore in Stow-on-the-wold for the full month of May.

The embroidery has been carefully stretched, pinned and mounted in @roseandhollis tray frame, hand painted in @farrowandball and finished with a @liberon.uk clear wax.

Second in line of artist on my ‘wish list’, is the bright and colourful work of London based painter @anna_hymas .
I first discovered Anna’s work at the wonderful @cricketfineart art where I couldn’t help but be captivated by her playful and abstract bowls of fruit.
Anna’s vibrant palette creates work with a sense of movement and depth, often layering image upon image.
A favorite from our last sale at @clemsfairs . This 1930s watercolor, Punt on River by Charles Vernon Methley, is a perfect example of how the right mount and frame can transform small-scale art.
A Hand-painted red bobbin moulding with a gloss finish.
Paired with a double-mount for depth and anti-reflective glass for total clarity of color and detail.
