@lindenlanenyc is a respite from city life in the middle of Hell’s Kitchen. A tranquil path leads to the building, within which three-story homes, or Maisonettes, are embedded. We worked with ideas of tranquility, balance, and softness to furnish one of these homes; for the living room, we focused on the simple play of forms and lines.

A color palette designed with sensorial regulation in mind.
It took a few months of observations, conversations and reflection to put this palette together for a school that services children that often struggle with over-stimulation or under-stimulation.
Overall, we incorporated soft earth tones for a calming effect, and contrasted them with moments of bolder and saturated color - each responding to the variety of spaces and their intended uses.
One curious observation in this process was realizing how institutional blue can feel. It is the coolest color on the color wheel and like all colors it probably carries certain cultural associations (including gender). This realization helped us further refine and anchor our palette decisions.
A heartwarming collection of letters from Gio Ponti to the Plancharts (whom he jointly called Armanala), his clients for whom he designed, El Cerrito, in Caracas. Some of them are handwritten, all are decorated and filled with life’s love and excitement.
“Gracias Anala y Armando queridos la tapioca de Filomena estaba muy buena porque hacía parte del sueño del Cerrito”
Photos of Gio and Giulia in Venezuela, and lastly a poem from Gio to the couple.
