I didn’t expect it… but I WON! 🥂
Thrilled to have won first prize in the Royal Birmingham Society Of Arts Photography Prize 2025.
I was told I made art society folk law. Running late to the private view as I was moving I arrived as the awards were being presented. I took the lift to the second floor, only to step out into a room full of people as my name was announced! “I hope the rest of your life is as well timed as that entrance” was the final remark ~ me too sir me too.
The gallery are hosting a series of artists talks and I’ve been invited to speak. I’ll be at the gallery giving a talk about my work on the 15th March at 2pm if you care to come along 🫶🏼

Was going to photograph my Camilla today the blooms to make some cutouts for collage. Instead I watched it being blown around in the wind and rain from behind the window. Turns out that looks so painterly too.

Sunday sketchbook, Camellias on Avedon.
Spent this week admiring the way in which my Camellias move, fall and get dismantled by the wind through my window… decided to explore a little playing with composition with the pink petals on my Avedon book today and was lucky enough to have the sunshine to make it possible 💫
