Sustainable & virtual production strategy for stills shoots: with minimal tech and laptop to screen playback @helenlabourt 😊
Shot at our SSD studio in Fulham, London with huge Thanks to our e-com demo Tech Partners @roevisual 💚 and @ajs_studio who provided the @profoto lights💚
Super proud to share more from a two-year body of work focused on developing stills photography within virtual production as a credible, lower-impact shooting method.
Over that time I researched, trained, travelled, and worked hands-on to test how photographic plates can function as digital sets, shifting existing image archives into active, reusable production assets. This approach is about reducing the need for physical builds, travel, and waste, while expanding creative control.
A key part of my process has been recognising the untapped value in photographers’ back catalogues… what’s often overlooked can become a scalable, sustainable foundation for virtual environments.
This is one of many case studies developed behind the scenes, alongside a small network of experienced collaborators I’ve brought together to help realise and refine this methodology.

Constructed Grace
I've been collecting places for years without knowing why. A cityscape in New York. A hotel room in Madrid. Light and memories I didn't want to forget.
On a virtual production stage, those images become something else. A stage to create new stories. In real life with humans, full of creativity and collaboration, then AI-enhanced.
Part archive, part algorithm, part instinct.
This is one image from a day of experiments. More to come.
Made with this brilliant crew.

This is our CS1 Virtual Production shoot, photographing fashion stills on a “Volume”
The White Cliffs behind the talent aren’t a printed set or a real location - it’s a huge LED screen playing a Creative Plate (courtesy of the National Trust).

When Hermione Norris set off on BBC’s Pilgrimage: The Road To Holy Island, she wasn’t looking for a reality TV moment — but a chance to reflect. Following the loss of her mother and with her children leaving home, the journey came at a time of profound change.
Walking nearly 400km across the north of England, the experience pushed her physically and emotionally, but also offered something deeper: connection, perspective and space to process a new phase of life. “What can I learn from this?” became her guiding question.
Now, as she approaches 60, Hermione opens up to Prima about stepping outside her comfort zone, embracing uncertainty and why she’s learning to let life unfold organically.

Proud of these shots. They include image plates captured at National Trust locations, as well as Spain and France, which now form part of our SSD plates library.
These were shown at FLOW by Pixelz Inc in London back in Nov 2025 - an industry event focused on the future of e-commerce content production and studio workflows.
For the demonstration we organised the LED screen with our tech partners, connected ROE Visual and Canon EMEA so the system could be tested properly and calibrated our plates using Capture One so Nathan James McDowell could shoot content live on the stage.

Most people never see this side of Virtual Production.
The LED “Volume” is basically a wall of modular panels + power + data.
Everything you’re seeing here has to be set up, tested, and colour matched before a single frame is shot.
Digital sets are still… physical sets.
In a world where AI is challenging the entire method of how we shoot, this is a very real, tech-driven hybrid solution - LED panels, power, data, calibration, lighting.
It still takes talented creative humans to make it work (and to create and capture the shoot). 💚
DM us for Test Shoot dates for Limited Time - located in Fulham London.
Always satisfying to see our sequin panels used to such beautiful effect, as in this recent sheet for prima Magazine

This year, Kate Garraway swapped the breakfast sofa tor the Scottish Highlands to compete in the first celebrity edition of Celebrity Traitors. The experience gave her a rare chance to step back, reflect, and dream about the next chapter of her life. "You're completely 'in-castleated' when you film," she tells Prima, describing the mix of fun, surprises, and intense strategy.
Away from the cameras, Kate is embracing new beginnings—writing a murder mystery, keeping cherished family traditions alive, and celebrating Christmas in full festive style with her children, Darcey and Billy, while honouring the memory of her late husband Derek Draper.
In our exclusive interview, Kate opens up about her career, the wonder of this time of year, and discovering joy and hope in surprising moments.
