Introducing Bangu Lounge Chair in ash. //
Bangu is the result of the merging of the Japanese concept of Ma Ga Warui and Mexican-Zapotecan ideologies. Inspired by these two culture’s architecture and philosophical values such as symmetry, connection to nature and resourcefulness, this piece invokes an experience of grounding oneself, through sitting on a lower plane encouraging the viewer to have a moment of pause.

Sneak peak at a special collaboration
we’ve been cooking up with local friends @studio_ochocuartos . Available tomorrow at Floralia Festival, until they last 👀💫
Floralia was an ancient Roman festival, honoring the goddess of blossoms, spring, and renewal. Join us in the garden, 1-4pm tomorrow, for some good ol’ fashioned Maypole merriment.
And if not for us, come for our very talented friends and guests who will be performing and popping up.

Vickie’s Chickies
We were offered the chance to collaborate as Backdrop art and design with the Julian Junior Theater @julianjuniortheater for their latest production Annie Jr.
This project was sooo fun yet challenging. Alec and I have never worked at this scale! We didn’t even have enough space on our home/studio so we decided to paint this on our roof😂
Annie is set in the Depression era so for the NYC skyline we wanted to convey a feeling of this grand grimy cityscape. This backdrop was inspired by german expressionist art. We thought blue tones would be fitting and also make it feel like a wet and cold city.
For Mr. Warbuck’s mansion we were inspired by a famous line when Annie walks in the mansion and says “Is this a train station?”
We thought about creating a clean, gorgeous and pristine space that also had an ambiguity to the space where one wouldn’t know if it’s a home or a train station or a library.
MUCHAS GRACIAS to Cara and Vanessa for bringing this awesome theater production to everyone in our community, and asking us to collaborate with them. It was truly an awesome learning journey for us as local artists here in Julian.
Thank you to our dear friend Allison for all your support and help. 💕
Huge shoutout to our baby Sol for all of her patience and artistic skills.
Thank you to our local hardware store @manzanitasupply for staying open late for us to complete our work.
Thank you @_life_of_a_conforto_ guys for your help and the extra hands.
We also custom made the shirts for family and friends. It was our first time we worked with silkscreen printing and we loved how the shirts turned out! Thank you @akanekog for supplying the goods amiga!
Don’t miss this on this AMAZING show and go support your local theater in this beautiful and talented community of Julian.
That’s a wrap for our PUFF & POUND workshop!🌟
Look at all these beautiful objects our participants made. From a bookend to an altar and many many ashtrays. It was so cool for us to see people take off with their own creations, Alec and I are super proud and impressed with how everyone did and we couldn’t be more grateful to Davida and all her staff from @pure_green_og for hosting this awesome workshop.
Special thanks to everybody that came out and supported this event. Congratulations to Starbuck the winner of the goodie bag raffle🎁
Stay tuned we’ll be bringing you more workshops so keep an eye our stories for more!
This past weekend we had a blast celebrating 🏵️Dia de Muertos 🏵️💀
We wanted for the community to take part in this deeply rooted and beautiful tradition.
People would choose their mini altar to take home and customize it with miniature figurines, candles and incense that represented their loved one.
I feel very fortunate to have experienced peoples’ reactions to this special tradition. I was truly surprised and honored to see people opening up and telling me about their relationships with their pets, parents or abuelitos.
I believe in death, rebirth and transition and death was taught by my abuela to celebrate it through this spiritual and powerful tradition. FELIZ DIA DE MUERTOS 💀✨
Thank you grandma Dinah for visiting us and joining us with your light. We miss you❤️

We replaced this window at our house with a quilt patterned stained glass. Inspired by friendship quilts this is a variation of a Friendship Star. ⭐️
Shout out to Blue Dolphin Stained Glass here in SD! 🐬
Did you know❓Patterns in quilts were used to convey secret messages between enslaved people in the Southern states during the time of North American Slavery.
