Here's a lovely little hand fabricated engagement ring I finished a while back.
Featuring a very striking colour shifting garnet, in 14k gold. There's some hand carved detailing to the band, and a floating full bezel setting.
The stone has been perfectly cut by @rtgemcutter and is magical to look at. I only use the best stones!

A little late for Valentine’s Day. The shifting purple-pink opalescent sapphire demanded to be carved into this anatomical heart shape. Made with love, and about love. A small talisman - to give the courage to take the loving path, even when it’s not the easiest way.
On the front, the gold is richly textured with fine lines radiating from the centre stone, while the rear is deeply carved with a sunburst motif.
Can be worn close to the throat on a black silk choker that I have braided in the Kumihimo style, or alternatively on the gold chain also shown.

Jadeite, the hardest and rarest of the two minerals that share the name "Jade", is found in a very small number or locations worldwide. I cut these cabochons from an inky, translucent blue-green variety that was harvested from the Motagua River Valley in Guatemala. This material was prized by the Olmec and Mayan civilizations and said to represent eternity

The texture is subtle and unique. Unlike a normal, hammered finish, which is often added for decoration, the ripples in the surface of this ring come from the way I forged the metal with a specially made, polished steel punch. The richly burnished buttery gold surface somehow reminds me of crocodile leather, or the ribs in bamboo or some other tropical tree.
Perfect for a wedding band, these can be made to any size and shape.
