Chuffed to bits that Small Voices, a project I was honoured to work on with @weareartwithheart has recently been announced as a finalist for a Manchester Culture Award 2023! 🎉🤞
Small Voices is a special edition of Art with Heart’s equality podcast, Box Tickers. Created with Year 6 students across Manchester, it focuses on issues affecting children today – from climate change and the cost of living, to racism and human rights. Three schools across the city were paired up with a poet and facilitator to learn about equality and write poems, making their demands to adults to create a fairer world.
To amplify the children’s voices – a name, visual identity, outdoor campaign, social media assets and an education pack were created. Using the equals sign – a symbol for equality, and a pencil – a powerful tool for ideas and protest, the branding expresses the notion of equality and the idea of children taking action through the power of writing. A campaign was created using excerpts from the children’s poems, in their own handwriting, putting them front and centre on billboards across the city with the assertion that no voice is too small.
Made with Year 6 students from St Wilfrid’s CE primary School in Newton Heath, Crowcroft Park Primary School in Longsight, and Haveley Hey Community School in Wythenshawe.

So excited to finally be posting this! 😅
Really proud to have worked with community arts organisation @everydaywigan (previously Wigan STEAM) on their rebrand that launched this week.
It's been such a fun one to work on and they are the loveliest people whom I'm so grateful to for letting me run with it!
From the community consultation, brand workshop and thorough naming process to the brand strategy and branding, we tackled the works with the aim to 'un-confuse' their identity and bring it inline with who they are today.
The name ‘Everyday’ was chosen – a name fitting for a friendly, unpretentious and inclusive bunch who, through their community, workshops, events and projects, foster creativity. Everyday.
Like a sketchbook full of scribbles or a table scattered with art materials – the branding invites people to celebrate the process of creating, make a mess and have a go!

Art with Heart have launched Small Voices, a special edition of their podcast, Box Tickers, created with and centred on children’s equality and rights.
The episode explores what equality means to young people in Manchester and what adults can do to make things better for the next generation.
In partnership with Manchester City Council, the podcast is the collaborative effort of a cohort of amazing artists and facilitators who have worked in three primary schools across Manchester, running workshops on equality and recording Year 6 students’ powerful poetic provocations.

Been having a ball recently creating the brand identity, illustrations and website for the wonderful @pen_andthink – the creative practice of talented writer, storyteller and experience creator @miggysworld ✨
The concept is based around the idea of Megan's writing being at the centre of everything she does, with the many other elements of her practice circling around it – her broad range of skills, her varied offering and her entourage of trusted creatives.
