CAN believes everyone deserves to live in safety, dignity, and peace. The UK is seeing misinformation at unprecedented levels, in both the mainstream media and on social platforms, which is intentional in its aim to ignite and normalise racist hatred. Some of this hatred is taking form in the racist protests on the UK’s streets and outside hotels where asylum seekers are living. Targeting people because of their race, nationality, or immigration status is wrong. These protests do not speak for the vast majority of people in our communities, who value compassion, fairness, and respect. Our country is at its best when it is welcoming, inclusive, and united. We have more in common than that what divides us. #hopenothate #saynotoracism #refugeeswelcome #cityofsanctuary #stopracism #moreincommon

What helps people feel seen, heard and like they belong? In the latest episode of Community In Mind, we explore how creativity can help build connection, community and belonging. Georgia is joined by Anna Vu Thompson, creative director of @comartsnw an organisation creating access to cultural opportunities across Greater Manchester. Anna shares thoughtful insights on representation, storytelling, identity and breaking down barriers to participation. This conversation is a reminder that creativity isn’t only about expression – it can help people feel represented, connected and part of something.
