Calling all fiddles, guitars, and banjos! Come play some old time music with us this Sunday at 3pm in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Or just sit by the fire and have (a properly poured) Guinness. Either way, it’s a good time. 🪕🎻#oldtimejam
Such a treat excavating these cassettes and mastering them for release! I’ve heard a lot of stories over the years about this era and it’s really nice to get a little snapshot of the music these two were making. Thanks to dear pals Alice and Andy for looping me in to work on this! Up today for bandcamp Friday!!!

So I just upgraded my computer and a bunch of software that I've been using over the years. One of the plug-in updates included a new AI feature. I tried the AI master assistant on 3 records... a jug band record, and old-time stringboard trio, and a solo acoustic guitar project. I'm delighted to report that it sounded terrible on all 3, and remind you that I am here to do low impact natural sounding mastering on your trad and trad adjacent records. I am a human, and have spent my life listening to and studying this music and the art of recording and presenting it. Give me a shout if you want a balanced, natural, non squashed medium volume master for your recordings for digital, vinyl, or cassette release!
I have decided to greatly simplify my recording setup, as I’m doing more mobile and post producrtion work these days. I have a lot of cool gear that I’m just not using in my current workflow, that I’d love to get out of my space and into somewhere where folks will use it.
