Hi, from the materials library. We’re Arielle and Travis Weedman — founders and principals of Weedman Design Partners. A lot of our ideas start here. We’ve been updating the About page on our website, and it felt like a good time to say hello here, too. More on the About page at the link in bio.

We all know this iconic vintage architectural clamp light. For this tech office, we reworked that familiar form into a custom ceiling fixture composed of 10 of them. It is a simple move, but one that adds a sculptural, unexpected element to the space. Those kinds of tailored details are what make a project feel personal. Designing spaces that feel as original and unique as our clients is what we do best.

Retail design should do more than hold product, it should shape how the product is understood. In this display, the casual presentation keeps the denim feeling approachable, while the mix of wood, concrete, and worn leather adds warmth, texture, and a sense of authenticity. The result is a setting that supports the brand story without overworking it. I ❤️ Blake :)

A condo we staged in 2003, featuring one of Travis’s early artworks: tic-tac-toe. We recently reconnected with the buyer of this piece and were happy to hear it’s still in in their collection- a mighty fine collection it is :)

A hands-on work zone designed for the in-between moments — mockups, packaging, samples, and the kind of projects that need a table, a few tools, and room to spread out. This work zone was designed to support everything from thoughtful gifting for remote staff and clients to the occasional last-minute mockup, while also encouraging the team to step away from the computer and work more directly with materials.

Natural light does more than brighten a space, it can shape how people feel and focus throughout the day. In this conference room, part of a larger office we designed, natural light was a key driver from the start. When laying out an office, one of the constant considerations is how to balance privacy with access to natural light. Here, it made more sense to let light move through the conference room and into the reception area rather than close it off. That decision helped the office feel brighter, more open, and more connected. 📸 @georgebarberis

A lot of the work at Oaks Park Dance Pavilion was above our heads. With the drop ceiling removed, the original wood ceiling and structural framework could finally be seen again. What came with that was extensive coordination behind the scenes—structural work, cleanup of electrical and ductwork, and a lot of careful decision-making to make the room feel whole again. These photos focus on the ceiling structure now back in view: old and new working together, with the original character of the pavilion doing what it was always meant to do. 📸 @jayfram

A thousand small decisions, one finished space. For Oaks Park Dance Pavilion, the work was all in the mix—old and new, restored and refreshed, visible and invisible. The goal was simple: bring out the best in the pavilion. 📸 @jayfram

Studio visit with Perry at Tiny Spoon Neon to review final details for this installation at Electric Blocks in Southeast Portland. We love working with makers—people who are deeply invested in their craft. Seeing the studio, understanding the process, asking questions, refining details. It’s one of the best parts of what we do. This reel captures a bit of that: time in the studio, the installation on site, and the final glow in the lobby.

Still smiling from this one. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate Christopher Belluschi’s opening with us. Nights like this are why we host these events. Our studio is where we work every day, and opening it up as a gallery creates space for art, design, conversation, and community to overlap in the best way. We’re grateful for the turnout, the energy in the room, and for the work of @belluschi.sculpture bringing so many people together. Christopher will be holding gallery hours, and we’ll share the schedule and details on @gallery.wdp

Bold, playful, and intentional. A finished view and an early mockup from the PiPH retail space design process, balancing organization of the pen collection with PiPH’s bold color and pattern at Portland International Airport. 📸 @ianjwhitmore
