Our studio is feeling incredibly grateful to be be finalists in the 2026 @duluxaus Colour awards for two of our projects — Ember Bath House and Juni Cafe.
At Ember Bath House, the experience is immersive and introspective. Designed as a journey of self-care, the interiors are tactile and restorative, a place where light, materiality, and colour work together to soften energy and heighten senses.
Juni Cafe was imagined as a light-filled neighbourhood space, shaped by soft tones and playful textures that reflect the warmth of its community. The palette grew from a buttery yellow foundation, layered with hues inspired by everyday rituals, coffee and sunlit moments.
To be recognised amongst such a strong field of projects celebrating bold and thoughtful use of colour is something we are truly proud to be part of.

Studio Traces is honoured to be shortlisted for the 2026 Australian Interior Design Awards. We’re incredibly grateful for this recognition of our project, Ember Bath House.
In 2024, Ember approached us to expand their existing bath house, with a focus on creating a sensorial, grounding journey. The design draws on Japanese bathing rituals alongside Turkish-inspired hammam practices, shaping an immersive and restorative experience.
This project would not have been possible without the trust and vision of our clients, Sam and Ryan, along with the dedication of Chris Powell and his outstanding team of trades. We also extend our thanks to all the suppliers who supported the journey.
We feel very fortunate to be recognised alongside such a strong group of hospitality projects this year.

An immersive film of @emberbathhouse meticulously designed by @studio.traces and styled by @jessicaalice_design . With the colder season rolling in, there couldn’t be a better time to unwind and float away within the dark and moody walls of Ember.

We are proud to see Phoebe, our Lead Designer at Studio Traces, named a finalist in the Australian Design Review 30 Under 30 Awards.
Her work embodies a quiet confidence—considered, assured, and deeply intentional.
In May 2026, she will travel to Bali for a mentorship and connection experience, continuing a trajectory we’re excited to watch unfold.

The interior reflects Zonts’ bold, creative croissant recipes while allowing the artisanal, experimental pastry to remain the hero. Rolled forms in buttery yellow hues, such as the corian counter element, combined with futuristic rippled stainless steel enhance the pastry lab and technical aspects of patisserie. Warm and playful, walnut tones ground the interior and provide a traditional café feel for dining in. Texture coating in a rich sundaze colour applied to chunky curved bespoke joinery ensures the bakery process is tactile and engaging with the customer experience.

The team carried the design language through to the second @blank_suites location, where the repetition of geometry aligns with an avant-garde architectural intent.
