This piece was made in response to the ReverbPA summit I attended as part of this project. The swirling explanation I have is still half baked and convoluted but suffice it to say there’s no other place I’d rather live than Millvale, PA.

The man is a talent machine and me and Bones are real stoked to see what he’s got up his sleeve for this group show. Come see it for yerself in two weeks when it opens on 3/7 at 6pm ✨
I had fun making my own little green lady confined to her 3”x3” little box. She’s small now, but if she stood up she’d be a colossus I’m sure.
In other news the studio and storefront are papered over in preparation for the group show, but Bones and I are still here werkin’ away 🛠️

I’m excited to share two projects I’ve been working on this year : 1) a tiny “book case” that I have been filling with hand made, hand painted, tiny books 📚 Some are new, some were made for other shows from earlier this year, and some I’ve been working on for years and years….. and 2) a tiny Kelsey press I’ve been working to refurbish. She’s locked and loaded with an itty bitty *de luxe* Lino block carving and I hope you’ll stop by and try your hand at some printing with me as I demo how to use this beloved little press 🌻

☎️ Hello? yes it is moi, back with shameless wedding promo 💅
A couple weeks ago me and @szuminar tied the knot in a hot hot barn and amongst our nearest and dearest ❤️ we were so moved by friends and family who helped us pull off this massive, sweaty project 🙏 we did a lot of DIY, and I wish I took more photos, but here is a mix of bts from letterpress to flowers. My mom @candacecomptonpappas and I foraged 90% of flowers from the Michigan roadside, and I used my MIL’s beautiful dried hydrangeas as alter decor 🌸 A big big thank you to everyone who made this such a special day for us 🌸
That’s all for now….oh wait… hire me to letterpress all your wedding (or party 🎉) accoutrement 👽

Save the date! The public opening reception for High and Mighty is First Friday, February 7th, 6-9pm at Bunker Projects! Come celebrate one of our new solo exhibitions by Pittsburgh-based illustrator and letterpress printer, Sophia Pappas.
This vibrant body of work unveils a pantheon of gods and deities, inspired by Sophia’s exploration of art history and religious traditions. With influences from ancient Maya to medieval Christianity and Japanese Kazari, she creates a contemporary vision of power, presence, and the sacred.
Sophia, creator of our Coral Street mural Win Some Lose Some, runs Studio PDP in Millvale and has worked with clients like The New York Times, The New Yorker, and NPR. We’re thrilled to be working with her again to present this new body of work—a perfect opportunity to add striking, thought-provoking pieces to your personal collection.
