The catastrophe after the earthquake of 2016 that hit the central area of Marche region, becomes an opportunity for the municipality and the community to rethink the historical center of the city and the surrounding areas.
The project influences the collective imagination to evoke both the historical memory, gently designing with local materials and building techniques upon where the town medieval monastery once stood.
The pattern's study constitutes a primary aspect of our project and the evolution of the intervention, in line with the principle of lightness and gentleness.
Through the design of the surfaces, their porosity, materiality, and limits the open space has been designed in terms of function, use, and atmosphere, reflecting on the primary and collective role of the void in historic centers. By acting on the fragmentation of public space and defining a new surface vocabulary - made of new patterns coming from the local material tradition - we have been able to re-formulate the relationship between open and built, public and private, collective and individual space.

We celebrated this wonderful recognition during the ADA Night at Superstudio, in the heart of the Tortona district in Milan.
Designed by Isabella del Grandi @isabelladelgrandi , founding partner of Studiolatte @studio.latte.studio , IDOL is a trilogy of sound-absorbing sculptures that elevate acoustics with an eclectic, symbolic language.
Inspired by the ancient Greek word εἴδωλον / eídōlon, the pieces reinterpret primitive forms into contemporary totems — unexpected geometries balanced in space, both silent and expressive.
Each sculpture is handcrafted in the Slalom atelier and finished with ethical, precious Italian felts and fabrics in a rich, evocative color palette. A multisensory journey of texture, color, and sound — shaping a new imaginary landscape.
✨ Thank you to @archiproducts@archiproducts_awards and the ADA jury for this honor.
✨ Congrats to everyone involved in bringing IDOL to life.

On the occasion of Performing Architecture Festival and Art Week, VANDALI came to life, an ensemble of interactive sound sculptures in dialogue with the urban environment, intertwining with the rhythm of everyday life in the neighborhood of Barona and the voices of its community, creating unconventional spatial and social dynamics.
The permanent sound installation was born from the idea of a sound amplifier in the public space that, through multiple configurations and an interactive audio device conceived by the artist duo Babau @artetetra_records , adapts to various performative situations and transforms the monumental architecture of Piazza Donne Partigiane in a sounding board for the voice of the community that actively inhabits it.
Not a single performer, but a chorus of many voices that narrates space,
time and everyday life in the urban context.
VANDALI is a provocation towards the inviolability of artistic
performance as absolute and authorial, an opening to the possibility of an open, collective and indeterminate act and performative space.
The installation is a project part of Performative Architecture Festival, a festival that connects five neighborhoods in the southern outskirts of Milan through site-specific installations and performances. Born from
the collaboration between BASE and DOPO?, is among the winners of the Festival Architettura - Edizione 3, promoted by Direzione Generale Creatività Contemporanea del Ministero della Cultura.

During Milan Design Week, we gathered at Villa Mirabello for a conversation about design, community and what a design week could be.
Design week visitors, local designers, the designers-in-residence, curators and local organisations came together to reflect on the work presented at CIVICITY 2026 — and on what it means to design with a city, rather than just in it.
A great opportunity to reflect on design with people rather than for people together with an inspiring group of international colleagues, old and new friends.
A special thanks to @nieuweinstituut and @quindi_chefare for inviting us, to @_aliceprevitali for the introduction to the project and @angelarui for guiding the conversation.
In bocca al lupo @demopractice and @nedkaar for your residencies in Milan later this year!

During Milan Design Week 2026, we presents Felt Frequencies at Alcova in the former Baggio Military Hospital, a project which brings together in a single immersive installation the Italian company Slalom Acoustics, of which the studio has been creative
director since 2022, and Vintage Audio Institute, an Italian archive of vintage synthesizers.
Once again, our research aimed at merging design and experience,
deepening the study of soundscapes to be explored and experienced by the public.
Sound-absorbing shapes, and textures inhabit and define a soft architecture, entirely covered in refined textile with custom patterns designed ad hoc by Studiolatte for the occasion.
The exhibition design is conceived to frame a selection of the most iconic pieces from the V.A.I collection, inspired by the world of recording studios. Inside the space, visitors dive into the acoustic microcosm born from the union of the two realities, both linked to the world of sound, experiencing a program of performances featuring Italian artists who perform playing the vintage synthesizers.

Step into Felt Frequencies — an immersive audiovisual experience shaped by Slalom’s soft acoustic surfaces, the distinctive timbres of V.A.I.’s vintage Italian synthesizers, and a soundscape designed and curated by Studiolatte.
At its core lies an intimate, living space: a temporary recording studio set up for the duration of MDW.
Inside, a rare collection of synthesizers awaits — including the iconic Steelphon S900, crafted in Turin in 1973 and famously played by David Bowie during a legendary 1977 session at Berlin’s Hansa Studios.
Every day throughout MDW, a different musician reinterprets these instruments, layering unique sounds into an evolving, site-specific composition.
Stay tuned for more.

The project is a new construction inspired by the imaginary of the primitive hut, a simple volume sheltered under a pitched roof.
The exterior blends with the surrounding rural typologies while the interior opens up to the outside, creating a visual connection with the agricultural context of Parco del Ticino.
