Here is “Misket” – recorded live at the Grand Hall of the legendary
@elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, with the incredible
@ensembleresonanz 🌹✨
Another traditional folk song from Ankara/Türkiye. Misket is both a girl’s name and also means “marble” or “pearl” – something beautiful and fragile. The song is a lament: Misket is gone, and the singer is left behind, asking “Can a soul bear this?”
Misket is also the name of a local dance from the Ankara region, showing how Anatolian folk music holds grief, love, and tradition all at once. Songs like this gave voice to longing, migration, and the bonds that keep us connected.
Captured in one unforgettable night that brought us all together.
Special thanks again to everyone who made this possible!
