π PSSA Member Profile: Edie Flowers
We are delighted to present the work of new PSSA Member Edie Flowers. Edie's work is centred in sculpture but relies deeply on drawing and writing as companions. With an affinity for plaster, a raw and laborious material, Edie often works over wire armatures, and her drawings are mostly charcoal on paper.
Recent works investigate the relationship between psychological unrest and it's physical embodiment. Engaging processes of creation, destruction and reconstruction, the works materialise an internal dialogue - transforming intangible mental states into tangible form.
By mapping the cyclical patterns of fear, disorientation and emotional stasis, the series examines experiences that exceed language yet persist as recurring conditions of being.
Edie Flowers (b.1994) studied Sculpture at Camberwell College (17-20) before attening the Royal Drawing Schoolβs Postgraduate Drawing Year (21-22). Edie is now living and working in London with a studio at the Bomb Factory. Recent Exhibitions include Nature: 10 Artists from London curated by Harry Pye at Kadrioru Galerrii, Tallinn, Estonia, Drawn Together at The Royal Drawing School, London, UK, and A Girl Is A Haunted House at The Bathhouse E9, London, UK.
