Happy to see the mirror series featured in this month’s Bazar magazine – as part of the exhibition #versa360 curated by @versa.versa.versa at the iconic Biennale Pavilion in São Paulo. Grateful to have been part of this inspiring group of creatives, and to share space and context with such thoughtful, future-facing work. Thanks to @brugnara_ and the entire VERSA team – and thank you @bazaarbr for the feature! Article excerpt: CÔNCAVO/CONVEXO Two mirrors emerging from the same starting point: emptiness as the central element. One challenges the boundaries between reflection and transparency; the other reflects everything – except the face – creating space to reflect on vanity, identity, and absence. Together, they offer a new way of looking at ourselves and the space we inhabit.

These two mirrors were designed to explore holes as a central design element, creating a unique interplay of reflection, transparency, and perception. Each piece invites the viewer to engage directly with its effects: one transforms the relationship between reflection and transparency, while the other mirrors everything except the face, focusing on themes of vanity, self-reflection, and the absence of matter. Together, they challenge the way we perceive ourselves and the spaces we inhabit.

Perfect Match 🫂 Two very special objects which, in their very own way, translate the value of profiles into archetypal furniture. The AE_CO1 chair by @sebastian.kommer and the Type Chair by @studio.e__ / @rene_otto in harmony. #design #collectibledesign #art #gallery #architecture #chair #chairtag

I’m excited to share some impressions from the ‘What’s Your Type Chair?’ exhibition with you. In May, I had the opportunity to curate a collaborative exhibition where we worked across disciplines. All participants interpreted the archetypal chair I designed in 2022/2023 their own unique way. Big Thanks to everyone 🫶🏼 Interpretation 1 by @sebastian.kommer Interpretation 2 by @paula_oltmann Interpretation 3 by @moritz.clasen Interpretation 4 by @rene_otto Interpretation 5 by @simon.stanislawski Interpretation 6 by @hlyachristin Graphics by @luiswerkstein Location by @wendenstrasse45 Photos by @rene_otto

This mirror is the second of two that I have designed to emphasize holes as a design element. The effect can be experienced directly. In this piece, everything except the face is mirrored, due to the cut-out at head height. The experience is different for each person, yet very personal. It addresses topics ranging from vanity and self-reflection to the absence of matter in material and space.
