This eco package consisted of practical tips on cleaning and money-saving advice that required clear, literal storytelling. To bring in a sense of play, which is part of Chatelaine’s design identity, we have Earth as our central character. 🌎🌱
Illustrated by Carmen Jabier, the colourful, expressive Earth carries the narrative, communicating care and maintenance in the home while adding personality and warmth. Elements like the caulking gun and the thoughtful depiction of different parts of the world elevate the work and make the commission feel editorial.

Spent Wednesday afternoon at the Zwilling HQ exploring their Milano ceramic cookware available in black, brown and a really pretty navy blue.
A beautiful 3-course lunch by Chef Eva Chin celebrating seasonal ingredients and consisted of:
Griddled scallion flat bread with roasted spring ramp butter
Steamed rice rolls with poached egg, fragrant chili crisp and Niagara cured ham
Bressé chicken and wild mushroom “ceramic” rice
Followed up by a dessert of a sticky rice crepe with coconut and sesame. 💕

The starting point for this story was reflections. Using a corrugated saturated blue wall creates a moodier tone complimenting the brandied cherry cocktail.
We played with height in the glassware, to guide the eye around the image, and capturing a cocktail splash creates action in a candid moment. I chose not to have a hard horizon line in the photo for continuity in the vertical lines which creates a seamless composition.
Often my job is about small decisions, should the camera angle be higher or lower? Are there too many glasses? Do we see enough of the reflection? But with the attention to details from this team of stylists and photographer it all comes together.

✈️💕 A quick but memorable trip to Ottawa for a first look at Akira Back’s newest restaurant inside the Fairmont Château Laurier.
The visit began at Zoe’s with dinner, followed by High Tea the next day. The food was rich and comforting, and the service felt genuinely warm and welcoming. A morning tour of the Château highlighted just how much of the original architecture and detail has been carefully preserved.
That night was the main event. Akira Back’s space carries his signature style, modern and a little moody with touches of gold. The five-course dinner felt thoughtful and beautifully executed, with highlights like Hokkaido scallop with kiwi, rock shrimp with gochujang aioli, wagyu picanha, and a king oyster mushroom pizza.
The trip wrapped up with a visit to the Ottawa Art Gallery, a fitting end to a great stay.

Had a wonderful morning at the media preview for Paul McCartney Photographs 1963–64: Eyes of the Storm at the Art Gallery of Ontario.
More than 250 images taken by Paul McCartney himself over about ten weeks in 1963–64, the images feel candid, playful and intimate. A genuinely fascinating exhibition for Beatles fans and anyone curious about that moment in music history.

Still smiling after seeing The Barber of Seville by the @canadianopera So funny, so light, and such a joy to watch. I loved seeing so many kids and young folks in the audience too. It really feels like the perfect first opera.

Thursday at the @marimekkocanada showroom for a first look at the Fall ’26 ready-to-wear and accessories. A rich merlot colour story ran through the space, with so many beautiful new textures to take in. Some of my favourites included a black jacquard shirt and dress unmistakably Marimekko using the Unikko flower print, and black and white polka dot crewnecks that are playful and crisp. ⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️
