Some stills from the second of the three showings I did for my project Basin for my FAB25 course final project. Basin visualizes heart rate as droplets of water to bring attention to your physical state and create a shared space that encourages meditation and self reflection. This was an earlier version that relied on a PIR sensor that samples heart rate through your finger. The most recent version uses mm wave sensors that are non contact allowing me to capture a variety of bio inputs all at once. Thanks @reyesmanuu for the beautiful photos. #seeedstudio #dfrobot #iaacbcn #fabx25 #fabacademy
Screenshots from the CAD model I have been developing for the final project I have been working on for several months while at Fab Academy BCN. More to come in the next two weeks! #iaac #fabacademy
Finally burned Staircase. This is a project I completed a few weeks ago. I have been waiting for the right moment to finish the project. Thanks to Ed @edbois and Dani @dqnimateos for staying late at IAAC to help me set this small fire. We will see but I might be making a much bigger version of this in the coming year ✌️ #fire #candle #wax #fabacademy
Some stills from the original contact sensor version of my project ‘Basin’ completed for my
final project for Fabacademy 2025. The work takes heart rate from the finger mounted sensors and dispenses a droplet of water through three pump dropper systems into the dish at a rate that matches the three participants heart rate. This was a quick setup just to shoot some photos. Thanks Santi and Mark for help set this up. Also thanks to @reyesmanuu for shooting the stills. @iaacbcn@fabfndn
Some more stills from the 2025 student exhibition of my project Basin at IAAC Barcelona. Basin is an interactive artwork that
encourages calm through biofeedback. Using three no-contact heartbeat sensors as an input and peristaltic pumps as an output, water droplets are released at the rate of the persons heartbeat. Built on a custom ESP32 based control system I developed, this biological data is converted into gentle, sensory output. #iaac #fablabbcn #interactiveart #newmediaart #fabacademy

First cut of my video for my project, Basin I developed for fab academy 2025. Basin was conceived as a work that creates a shared meditation experience visualizing heart rate as droplets of water. #fabacademy #kineticart #newmediaart #iaac
Project I did a few months while taking #fabacademy at #iaacbcn . More of visual design experiment. Visually I wanted to push myself to work more with organic forms. Something I realized in the design process is how much more I could push the form of the legs. Since they repeat 4 times as a module this gave me a lot of flexibility in how they were designed. Similarly, it was super fun to fully use Fusion’s auto nesting feature to get some crazy low material waste.
Some photos from the last 5 weeks I spent working on the custom electronics for my #fabacademy final project. My project is taking the form of an art installation that samples breath rate using mmWave (like radar) sensors and converts that into water droplets. Much more to come on the form this piece…. quite a lot of 3D design to do over the next week 😉 #iaac
