Throwback to the first Ferris wheel 🎡 Thinking a lot about this project as I work on an upcoming installation, came across some of this footage and figured I’d throw a little video of it together. The piece ran with William Basinski’s “Disintegration Loops” playing in loop in the background.

Realizing that I am quite bad at documenting/posting my work, so here is a little video that I cobbled together from a show with @practicegallery in 2023-2024. The ferris wheel ran continuously while William Basinski’s The Disintegration Loops played in loop. What Comes Around Goes Round and Round steel, epoxy clay, aluminum, foam, wood, acrylic, spray paint, wire, bike parts, hardware, motor, speaker, media player, William Basinski’s The Disintigration Loops, power source, 2023

A huge huge thank you to @ambrekelly and @andrewgoriandfriends and everyone @springbreakartshow that help make the magic happen behind the scenes. This year was so special and I am still trying to process all the amazing conversations I had with everyone who saw and spent time with the work. While a bunch have sold, some mirrors and steel Post-its are still available through the link in my bio. Here are some of my favorite available small mirrors 🪞

Highlighting Artist STUART LANTRY!! @stuartlantry —— “Life At MAXIMUM VOLUME” 2024-2025 (project has been going 2021-) 3” x 3” x .5” steel, spray paint, marker “Can We Hangout 9,00000 Times?” 2024-2025 (project has been going 2021-) Steel, spray paint, marker —— “Stuart Lantry (b.1990) makes installations, sculptures, videos and drawings that offer absurd meditations on how we create both meaning and a sense of self. This particular body of work is part of an ongoing attempt by the artist to document every thought he has ever had on hand-made steel Post-its. Through this laborious Sysiphean task, Lantry hopes to elevate the Post-it, one of the most humble and transitory physical containers of ideas, into an Art object that could potentially outlive himself. The ideas contained in these Post-its represent a small curation of thoughts from August 2024- January 2025.” —— In conversation with the exhibition: “As soon as Lantry began this project documenting each of his thoughts, it became clear that almost none of these ideas were his own. Whether shared, inherited or simply stolen, ideas emerge and re-emerge between people over locations and times. When we limit the view of a ‘self’ to a singular, holistic entity, it is natural to focus on the differences between oneself and others. However, by presenting a fractured and fragmented self-portrait of thoughts, it becomes almost natural to spot the similarities and connections between the artist, viewers and others.” —— Citrus Gallery is immensely honored to exhibit the works of Stuart Lantry in our upcoming exhibition “All I Think About Now”.
