Woke up today with a severe case of Panamanian fever and I think the only remedy may be to go back. It’s been 8 years and my back is still sore from fighting sea monsters on spinning rods #tuna #roosterfish #panama #rcioptics #darkseas
After over 10 years of working with @boteboards I decided to take a stroll down memory lane and highlight some of my favorite products from them. Their Black November Sale is in full swing right now. Your local @boteboards dealer should be honoring the sale as well, making it the best time of year to buy
• 12’ Rackham Gatorshell Paddleboard - Stable, versatile, feature rich, and easier to store than the 14’
• KULA 5/KULA 10 - Perfect day coolers and can double as a live well. If you don’t need the extra storage stick with the KULA 5, it’s lighter and easier to carry
• Aero Chair / Aerorondak Chair - Inflatable chairs that setup in less than 2 minutes. They’re all I use at the beach and camping. The aero chair is easier to break down but the aerorondak chair is more comfortable
• Aero Table - Inflatable table that pumps up in less than a minute. Perfect anywhere you need a table of flat surface. Magnets hold your BOTE cups or speakers
• Hangout Water Hammock - No sandbar or snorkel trip is complete without the water hammock. Inflates and packs up quickly
• Highwater Backpack - Hands down my favorite waterproof bag or backpack of all time. Comfortable to wear, great for travel, reliable waterproof zipper and seams.
• Magneboom Surge Speaker - Waterproof, rechargeable Bluetooth speaker. Plenty loud, portable, durable. Magnet on the base keeps it in place #boteboards #blacknovember #snook #tarpon #supfishing
No fuel bill, no maintenance, no electronics, no trailer, no insurance or registration needed. My favorite aspect of paddleboard fishing is the simplicity of it. Less is more but with that said, there are a few things I try to never leave home without.
Tackle Rac
Highwater Waterproof Backpack
Castnet
10lb Mushroom Anchor
Kula 5 Cooler/Livewell (Inshore)
3.5 Gallon Bucket (Offshore)
RCI Optics Powerplant Sunglasses
I typically fish the 12’ Gatorshell Rackham and I run it with two side bite fins and no center fin. It tracks well enough with two side bites and allows me to get super skinny inshore #boteboards #rcioptics #darkseas
Some surprise silver for us early in the season. My nephew @kamdenstrahlo wrangled this one in quickly using the revamped @quantum.fishing Cabo. @captpeterdeeks was right, we were all thoroughly impressed with the new Cabo 📸: @jaystray #darkseas #seahuntboats #tarpon #rcioptics
Something about the visual nature of flats fishing gets my adrenaline pumping, even when the fish are small. It feels more like hunting than fishing. We paddled just over 7 miles to get 8 eats, a day I won’t soon forget #darkseas #redfish #boteboards #rcioptics 📸: @jaystray
NOT AI. No live bait needed. Never in my life have I seen or even heard of someone catching a wild snook bare handed. We were camping in St Augustine when my nephew @kamdenstrahlo spotted a snook sitting on the bank while bike riding. He managed to sneak up on it without it spooking. He jokingly went to grab it and shockingly the snook let him. If only snook fishing was always that easy. Anyone else ever pull this off before? #darkseas #snook #nolivebaitneeded
I hate running offshore without at least a couple live baits. After an hour and a half trying, we managed to get 3 of the baits I wanted. And as luck would have it, the last live bait of the day paid dividends with a 20lb blackfin tuna. Poke bowls for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Can’t beat it #darkseas #blackfintuna #tuna #olukai #rcioptics 📸: @jaystray
Not the target species but, that tends to be the typical mode of operation on the FV Reel Chaos #darkseas #blackdrum #bigugly #seahuntboats 📸: @jaystray
