Stray Lines is a comics collective that has long been instrumental in growing an independent comics community in Ireland, pioneering events like the Dublin Comic Arts Festival, The Comics Lab, and the Dublin Comic Jam. With Beyond the Page, Stray Lines presents comics live readings, in which 4 comic creators will blend their stories to create rich and immersive landscapes combining sound design, projected drawings, video, costume and dance - and now live rollerskating and music!
From the scary to the silly, take a sit and immerse yourself in visual storytelling… including medieval murder ballads adapted by Alé Mercado
@alemercadodraws (The Lament for Art O’Leary) and Gretchen Allen
@gretchen.draws (Jack O’Lantern, The Wind and The Rain - with live singing), Elida Maiques’
@elidasaur haunting queer rollerskating story Wifwulf, and Katherine Foyle’s
@comicfoyle gothic comic Don’t Wake Daddy Patrick. Come with us as we push the boundaries of comics beyond the page, beyond the screen and onto the stage.
