Sounds like a remix now, but this is the original version of 'Black Cloud' from our 'Stagger' EP.
This version didn't last long - the second draft is a lot closer to the final thing. Add another nine months of fine-tuning the details, and we had the final version, which came out four years ago today.
Happy birthday 'Black Cloud' - you can expect to hear this one (in its final form) at our gig in June ☺️
An early demo of 'House of Myrrh'..
In Feb 2016 we'd worked on one track that became 'Unlearning', but 'House of Myrrh' was really the first Strange Ghost song. It's probably my (Chris) favourite song on the 'Stagger' EP for that reason.
We were living in London at the time, and enlisted a couple of friends (hello @philmartinmusic on the drums!) to help us flesh out the song idea. Later we settled on a more production-heavy approach for the EP, but still love getting to hear a full kit when we play live.
Four years ago today we dropped the final version on the world - happy birthday 'House of Myrrh'! 😄
