Join us at the rally to defend public housing on Saturday 30 May. Come to support residents who are defending their homes against demolition and privatisation by the Victorian Government, and hear from community about the importance of public housing. We will be starting at the State Library and marching to Atherton Gardens with a community festival to follow.

Told without warning that their Port Melbourne homes would be demolished, residents of the Barak Beacon housing estate join forces to fight for a future in safe, secure and affordable Public Housing.
Shot over two years, the story follows seven residents as they experience the destruction of their homes and community. The film documents the history of the buildings, the people who lived in them, and the building of a campaign to save their homes from gentrification. It shows how a life altering event can transform ordinary people and galvanise them to act to make change.
