AT STONEAGLE: In this 2005 interview inside our Stoneagle Studio, B.B. King reflects on the disappearing generation of original bluesmen—Robert Lockwood Jr., Pinetop Perkins, and himself among the last still active. With humility and gratitude, he honors the friends and fellow pioneers who shaped the music and thanks those who continue to keep their legacy alive. A rare moment of history spoken by the King of the Blues himself. #bbking #blues #pinetop
Stoneagle Music officially launches the Stoneagle Studio & Stay account! We’re excited to welcome the next generation of artists come April 2026.
Tucked deep in the quiet cornfields of Indiana, just an hour and thirty minutes from the Chicago Ohare, Stoneagle Recording stands as one of the Midwest’s most storied and atmospheric creative sanctuaries — a place where time slows down, inspiration takes over, and artists rediscover why they make music in the first place.
Founded in the 1990s inside a renovated barn, Stoneagle has hosted some of the greatest names in modern blues and American music. B.B. King, Pinetop Perkins, Eric Clapton, and others have walked these floors, leaving behind a legacy of soul, grit, and timeless sound. In 2008, the studio earned a Grammy nomination for Best Blues Album, a testament to the magic that happens here when great artists meet a setting built for pure creativity.
But Stoneagle is more than a studio. It’s a retreat. A refuge. We’re for musicians who need space, quiet, and authenticity.
Artists live on-site, surrounded by fields and open skies, with room for up to sixteen people. They record where they sleep, write where they roam, and dream where the music breathes. The property is filled with signed guitars, historic photos, vintage gear, and the invisible echo of sessions that shaped the soul of the place.
As the music industry gravitates toward immersive, long-form recording environments, Stoneagle is stepping into its next chapter.
