One that I really wanted to catch and one that’s always evaded me till now, the incredible “Baby Poolies”. The final fish after a flurry of bites in a mad 36hr feeding spell resulting in 4 fish landed on my first session back out this May. At 42lb it currently stands as my biggest mirror carp caught in the UK. The need for exploration and adventure can be a very hard itch to scratch, especially juggling family life and work. Add in the fact that you might only get a few weeks a year to make this happen, its very easy just to go to venues which have a known stock. Trust me, I've been wounded rolling the dice before🤣 not this time!

Loved getting this in my whattsapp this week.. a very very old carp from a place thats dear to me caught by the tenacious man that is @bennett5647 A relic from an era of carp fishing thats almost gone, all but a few of those big carp with a story are just a picture or story now..
