The journey of 'Drained' began when Peter Stylianou was inspired by the short film 'Adela' (directed by
@hellionfilms ). Two years later, Peter connected with DOP Daniel Patrick Vaughan, who shared his passion and loved the 'Drained' script. It felt like fate, after Peter then realized that coincidentally Daniel was the DoP of 'Adela, the film that inspired 'Drained'.
At the time, Daniel was collaborating with Sean Cronin on 'Bogieville' (Sean's next Vampire film released this year) Sean read the 'Drained' script, loved it, and decided to produce, co-direct and finance the project.
Throughout production, Sean was incredibly respectful of Peter's vision. He would often say, 'I don't want to step on your toes; I know this is your baby,' offering advice without taking over. Peter, in turn, would respond, 'I think it's Dan's baby,' recognizing Daniel's strong vision and the cinematography that brought the film to life.
Making micro-budget films is challenging, but with a dedicated team and a compelling script, anything is possible. 'Drained' truly punches above its weight, and we're incredibly proud of the result.
