Packed up some paintings last week and headed to Copenhagen where they will be shown @polygonartspace alongside @andrea_berthet beautiful glass pieces. Couldn’t have made it without my custom box made by @tom_bonin_illustration which survived the cargo hold and Kirrily Hammond helping me restretch in her beautiful little gallery with assistance from my excellent daughter.
Show opens Friday 17th and continues until 16th May.
Last week we lost our dear friend and brilliant artist Craig Cameron. We were so lucky to have been able to show ‘The Long Look’ @tuggeranongarts and I urge anyone who can to go and see his last beautiful painting of the landscape surrounding his home at Cowsnest. The show closes this weekend. This picture of Adam and Craig was taken on the stairs out the back of the old Graphics workshop at the Canberra School of Art circa 1999. Craig was unforgettable and will be missed by all who knew him.
‘Aral Sea, 2001 (diptych 9)’ is a finalist in the M16 drawing prize @m16artspace which opens on the 29th of November. I’m very pleased to participate this year as M16 celebrates its 40th anniversary. I had a studio at Leichhardt Street Studios when I left art school and was part of the board when we left our original premises and set up M16.
