Hans Arp & Contemporary Art | Unsere Direktorin Dr. Julia Wallner berichtet aus New York von der Konferenz der Stiftung Arp an der New York University zu Hans Arp und seinen Resonanzen in der zeitgenössischen Kunst. „Die organischen Formen seiner Skulpturen stehen heute im Zusammenhang mit zahlreichen Werken, die ihren Ausgangspunkt in der Natur, in Ökologie und Biologie haben - das reicht bis hin zu Kunst mit lebenden Organismen. Mein Vortrag „Poetics of Resistance“ nahm Arps Sprache zum Ausgangspunkt eines weiten Dialogs mit heutigen Werken, die mit Text arbeiten. Arp entwickelte in Dada und Surrealismus ein absurdes, den Zufall umarmendes künstlerisches Ur-Alphabet. Es war seine Antwort auf den katastrophalen Zustand seiner Zeit. Sein medienübergreifendes Werk mit elementaren Formen und minimalistischen Mitteln war auch Thema der Vorträge der zeitgenössischen Künstler Daniel Sturgis, Arturo Herrera und Kenjiro Okazaki. Es waren zwei Tage voller inspirierender Impulse, lebhafter Diskussionen und intensiven Austauschs. Die Präsenz und Aktualität von Hans Arp und Sophie Taeuber-Arp in unserer Gegenwart wurde aufs schönste gespiegelt mit ihren Werken im Museum of Modern Art und anderen großen Sammlungen der Stadt. Das Museum Lothar Fischer ist Gastgeberin für die AG Bildhauermuseen. Seit 2005 verbindet die Arbeitsgemeinschaft Bildhauermuseen und Skulpturensammlungen e.V. auf Bildhauerei spezialisierte Museen. The Stiftung Arp e.V. is delighted to contribute on the catalogue raisonné project of Swiss artist Sophie Taeuber-Arp, which will not only provide a comprehensive overview of her cross-media Oeuvre, but also present new research findings. In cooperation with the Fondazione Marguerite Arp in Locarno-Solduno (Switzerland), the Fondation Arp in Clamart (France) and the Stiftung Arp e. V. Berlin/Rolandswerth (Germany), SIK-ISEA is launching a new catalogue raisonné project dedicated to the extraordinarily diverse and extensive oeuvre of this exceptional artist. The project will also be supported by Walburga Krupp, a proven specialist, as an external expert. The project will result in a printed catalogue raisonné of Taeuber-Arp’s complete oeuvre as well as in a freely accessible digital version, both in English. La Fondazione Marguerite Arp ha il piacere di annunciare la partecipazione al progetto Sophie Taeuber-Arp. Catalogo ragionato L’Istituto svizzero di studi d’arte (SIK-ISEA) in collaborazione con la Fondazione Marguerite Arp, la Fondation Arp di Clamart (Francia) e la Stiftung Arp e. V. di Remagen e Berlino (Germania) lancia il nuovo progetto per il catalogo ragionato dedicato all'opera straordinariamente varia e vasta di questa artista eccezionale. Al progetto collabora quale esperta esterna Walburga Krupp, specialista riconosciuta. Il risultato del progetto sarà un catalogo ragionato a stampa accompagnato da una versione digitale gratuita dell'intera opera di Taeuber-Arp in lingua inglese. Sophie Taeuber-Arp (Davos 1889 – Zurigo 1943) è una pioniera della modernità: artista influente all'interno dell'avanguardia costruttivista internazionale, si è espressa in diversi ambiti. La sua produzione artistica comprende il disegno, la pittura e la scultura, mentre nel campo delle arti applicate annovera opere tessili, mobili, accessori per la casa e marionette teatrali. Taeuber-Arp ha lavorato anche nei campi dell'architettura, del design e dell’editoria. Ha inoltre praticato la danza moderna ed è stata insegnante e autrice di testi didattici nel settore delle arti applicate. ONDERZOEK | In 2023 ontvingen tien musea wereldwijd elk een bijzondere schenking van werken uit de nalatenschap van de Frans-Duitse kunstenaar Hans Arp (1886-1966). Museum Beelden aan Zee kreeg van de Stiftung Hans Arp und Sophie Taeuber-Arp in Berlijn 21 gipsen beelden en één bronzen sculptuur, die enkele maanden in het museum werden tentoongesteld. Met steun van de Vereniging Rembrandt (mede dankzij haar Fonds voor Onderzoek naar Moderne en Hedendaagse kunst) doet kunsthistoricus Louise Bjeldbak Henriksen diepgaand onderzoek naar deze werken. Dit meerjarige onderzoeksproject wordt in 2027 afgerond met een speciale solotentoonstelling in de grote zaal van museum Beelden aan Zee, en een uitgebreide tentoonstellingscatalogus dat alle bevindingen zal bundelen. — [EN] In 2023, ten museums around the world each received a special gift of works from the estate of the Franco-German artist Hans Arp (1886–1966). Museum Beelden aan Zee was granted 21 plaster sculptures and one bronze by the Stiftung Hans Arp und Sophie Taeuber-Arp in Berlin. These works were on display at the museum for several months. With support from the Rembrandt Association (specifically through its Fund for Research into Modern and Contemporary Art), art historian Louise Bjeldbak Henriksen is conducting in-depth research on this collection. In 1928, Sophie Taeuber-Arp worked on the murals for the vestibule and the staircase in Dr. Heimendinger‘s house in Strasbourg, but over the years they have been whitewashed over. However, some of her murals are currently being restored. Grassmann explores the themes of collectivity, text, and resistance in Sophie Taeuber-Arp‘s role as editor of the journal ‚plastique‘.
