FRANÇOIS MORELLET / SOPHIE TAEUBER-ARP • Join us next week for the opening of “Au hasard”, a duo show of François Morellet and Sophie Taeuber-Arp. Curated by Christian Alandete, the exhibition will open on April 9 at 47 rue Saint-André-des-Arts and will run through May 30, 2026. The exhibition brings together two major figures of geometric abstraction, separated by a generation but united by the same desire to reconcile rigor and playfulness. For both Sophie Taeuber-Arp and François Morellet, form arises from the tension between order and chance. An heir to the Dadaist spirit, Morellet borrows from Taeuber-Arp the notion of chance as a structuring principle, transforming the unexpected into method. Both develop protocols in which randomness becomes a measurable variable, integrated into the composition of serial systems, grids, and modular variations. The exhibition highlights this intellectual and artistic lineage. This exhibition is part of 100 x Morellet, an event organized to mark the centenary of François Morellet’s birth, at the initiative of the Fonds de dotation @francois.morellet and the @centrepompidou . This exhibition is organized in collaboration with the Fondation Arp-Taeuber, Clamart. For the third edition of @matterandshape we, at Atelier Toporkoff, have had the amazing chance to work with @fondationarp on the creation of « AUBETTE PV001AUBETTE PV001 ». We developed this stained glass screen from three Sophie Taeuber-Arp artworks: Composition verticale horizontale (1916), Aubette 199 (1927), and Aubette 200 (1927). We made it in Paris, out of French mouth-blown colored glass from @verreriedesaintjust and included some gold leaf application. The lead was assembled using traditional techniques, and the soldering has been made out of tin. The metal frame, made out of brushed steel with a patinated finish, has been developed with @acdc_aucoeurdeschoses in Montreuil. A huge BRAVO to @fanny.grandry and to Loïc for your massive and fantastic work. Thanks to the great team at @matterandshape , especially @matthieupinet , @danthawley , @oriane.bachellier , @alicegerault and @ps.creativeagency for making us part of this beautiful fair, and making us meet perfect fair-neighbors (hi @fassen.paris ! hi @ameliedupassage ! hi @serbanionescu !), amazing guests (hi @catharinaarp ! @helene.dubrule ! @marc_dubrule ! @fineisabelle !) or lovely journalists (hi @amyverner ! hi @as4d !). A l’invitation de @matterandshape , la Fondation peut présenter cette si grande artiste à travers les différents projets d’édition développés en partenariat depuis plusieurs années. Tapis avec @christopherfarrdesign , bougeoirs réalisés par @ic_design_ch , ainsi que de nouvelles créations comme le meuble à tiroir de Sophie édité par @fassen.paris , ainsi que l’incroyable paravent-vitrail imaginé par @toporkoff à partir de compositions de Sophie Taeuber-Arp. Rendez-vous au jardin des Tuileries du 6 au 9 mars !!!!

Attention ! Dernière semaine pour profiter de l’exposition « Arp mythique, Arp antique », qui se clôture ce dimanche 25 janvier !! Il faudra ensuite attendre le 13 mars pour découvrir notre prochaine exposition « Arp - Stahly, histoires naturelles ». La Fondation Arp sera fermée au public entre temps. Watch out !
