One year ago Covid took our freedom away. It forced me, and the rest of the world, to work differently. I had to think creatively. Not being able to photograph more than one person at a time, I decided to pick up an old tradition: Still life.

Imagine diving deep into the ocean. Find yourself in the fairytale world of underwater life. With all these colourful species and coral reefs… It all looks amazing… from the outside.
Cause our oceans are slowly suffocating, due to overfishing and the plastic soup we created.
Slowly we kill the most beautiful things we never see, but need the most. The ecosystems in the oceans are changing. We, human beings, are responsible for this change.
This photo represents the coral, the beauty, the colours, and the things we leave behind. I stil wanted it to look beautiful, but you need to know that the flowers are dead so we need to change now.
