A profound loss.
I had thought about what this day might be like, but I didnât expect it to come so soon after the 3-night run in Golden Gate Park. We got the news, and before we knew it, we found ourselves watching the sunset at Ocean Beach. It was just what we needed. Today, we spent some time visiting local venues that were expressing their love, before settling in at the corner of Haight and Masonic.
Listening to this music thatâs been a part of my life for 20+ years, surrounded by other fans and city residents, was surreal. Iâm Grateful to have had the opportunity to see Bob and the @gratefuldead as often as I have. Iâve shared countless memories with @potentialitea and recently got to dance alongside @brysonmalone at his first show. Thanks to @juandenver for recommending âBlue Mountainâ to help process.

Steven will finish a 6-hour group ride and already be scheming the next one before his helmetâs off. Originally from Detroit and now 15 years deep in San Francisco, Steven is the founder of @slugbicycles âa brand rooted in long, slow days, titanium frames, and the belief that adventure can be found when you look for it.
His love for cycling started young, thanks to his dad and the trails behind his childhood home. But it wasnât until 2020 that Slug was born: a community-driven effort to make bikes for the next 50 yearsâand to make off-road riding more accessible, sustainable, and soul-filling along the way.
Steven defines âEveryday Adventurerâ as someone who sees magic all over: post-work trail rides in the heart of the city, cruising across the Golden Gate Bridge to Mt. Tam, or discovering new routes right in your own city. What began as just organizing the rides he wanted to go on has evolved into a thriving community of dirt-loving, music-blasting, ocean-plunging freaks.
His perfect day? Group ride. Sunset. Turnstile in your headphones. And a splash in the Pacific.
Welcome to the crew, Steven đđ Weâre stoked to ride with you and your fellow slugs.
