If there’s anything I’ve learned returning to Pina’s “The Seven Deadly Sins,” it’s that this role demands complete, unrelenting honesty. It tells a story of a survivor, but also the unimaginable weight of simply being a woman. Like in life, the only way out is through.
Anna begins as a young girl with a dream of becoming an artist. On her seven year journey to make money for her family, she is forced into situations she never imagined. Used, abused. Selling herself to survive. Pushing away the only love she’s ever had. Weighing decisions that tear her apart. And even when she is utterly broken, she holds on to a piece of herself. She still goes on.
To tell a story so raw, so relevant, and so important is a privilege you don’t often get, and so, every night, each piece of me was cracked open and poured out onto that stage. For her. For me. For Pina. For all the women who exist within this story

In classic Sagittarius fashion, have been jet sailing away and only a week late to post… went and had myself a birthday 🎂 the big 3-0 😜💥 has been a 3 week celebration from Texas to New York to Wuppertal, celebrating my real day with the first day of rehearsal returning to another home of mine in Germany to guest for Seven Deadly Sins coming next spring :) … what a treat to celebrate with all my favorite people in all my favorite places and multiple homes over the years to ring in the new decade. Too many things to say, but mostly - feeling the energy of who I am, and all that’s to come. Centered, grounded, fired up, invigorated, EXPLODING with passion, happiness, love, force, slip dresses, & lots and lots of sag fire ;) 💥❤️ thanks to all for the special wishes and the people far and wide who make this life the most remarkable. 🥂

Pina Bausch Repertory Lab is coming to the Mark Morris Dance Center on Aug 2-3!
Ever wanted to learn repertoire from Pina Bausch’s legendary Rite of Spring? Now is your chance to join us for a special two day workshop that will give participants the chance to learn rep from Pina Bausch’s master works lead by former member Stephanie Troyak.
Stephanie will teach rep and incorporate dance theater techniques & elements from Pina’s works to give participants a glimpse into the world of “Tanztheater” and Pina’s way of working. This workshop is open to all levels, and will incorporate repertory, fun theatrical elements, and will be a deep dive into Pina’s work. Don’t miss it!
