Beyond and forever thankful for the opportunity I was gifted when modeling for
@Hlenie , for
@Nike .
Growing up, I never saw south east Asian people I could relate to in magazines or on TV, let alone Asians with vitiligo.
Being included in this project partly heals the inner child in me that grew up looking for icons to relate to, and also grew up thinking that pretty meant skinny. It being a story for a brand that was part of my childhood pop culture, makes it even more meaningful.
I feel immensely lucky for having been chosen to embody a shapeshifting character, my skin pattern being ever changing, posing in a snake print.
A story on identity, motion and metamorphosis, I am honoured to be the face of, unspokenly told through chronophotography, layering, transition and repetition.
