Hey friends, It really has been a fat minute. Life has been life-ing and I think a big part of me was burnt out from making content. I didn’t know WHO I was resonating with, or even WHO my content was for. Not that I have all those questions figured out, but part of me definitely missed making content. And definitely missed all 15 of you guys 🤓🫶🏼 Anyway, this year is exciting, and I’m going to try my best to continue to document this journey of starting a coffee brand that’s about more than just the coffee. Love yall, pls like, comment, and follow 😔 BIG BIG thank you to @hye.joy for helping this label design come to life. You are an absolute monster, and peel will forever be grateful.

The name Simba, for most people, brings to mind the fearless and heroic character from The Lion King. But for me, that name belongs to the most consistent friend I’ve had from my teenage years until now. He wasn’t fearless. He was always scared—always startled by loud noises, trembling every Fourth of July. But he was heroic. He saved me in my lowest moments and embodied what it means to love simply by being present. He never needed words; his presence held more comfort than I ever knew I needed. To all the friends and family who met Simba—thank you for being kind to him and loving him. He left too soon, but I’m grateful he was able to go before enduring too much pain and hardship. And to Simba, who will never be able to read this: Thank you for being my rock. Thank you for being steady when I wasn’t, and for showing me the impact and power of consistency. I’m sorry I didn’t let you pee in my restroom or lay on my bed. I’m sorry for all the times I didn’t let you into my room, or for yelling when you scratched at my door to leave—when you were the one who wanted to come in in the first place. There will always be a place for you in our home. Please come visit us when you’re done playing in the grass. I love you, bud.

Hi guys, I just got back from SF and planned to film a video out there of me doing my thing, but honestly.. I didn't record anything LOL. I am sorry, please forgive me and show lots of love to this video ! I had a lot of people asking me about my creative process and how I approach the tasting cards, and this video shows that I really don't know what I am doing besides trying my best to be creative and artsy HAHA. See you on the next one. Love you, bye

ep.3 (building an unconventional brand): the peel deal. im excited because i feel like this is really a step in the direction i’ve wanted to take peel for a while now. staying true to it’s values and not doing things for the sake of trend and appealing to the mass. i should’ve posted this video before i posted the infographic, but oh well.. let’s imagine this is the first time you’re hearing about @peel.rpd ‘s new coffee curation program. deadline to join for the first launch of peel deal is this friday, september 26th ! so make sure you DM “peel deal” to get further info and to also get a special first month promo as a thank you :) we at peel are super excited to bring this program to you guys. whether you decide to hop on the train or not, this train is moving till we get to where we want to be 🚂

the Peel Deal: A Monthly Coffee Subscription, Curated with Intention (special first month promo !! DM “peel deal” for more info) Each month, we share a rotating selection of light-roasted coffees that we’re genuinely enjoying—some from hard-to-find roasters around the world, others from closer to home. It’s our way of keeping you updated on what excites us, and inviting you to experience it too. While coffee processing methods keep evolving in bold new ways, our curation stays rooted in something timeless: a deep appreciation for terroir and a growing gratitude for the coffee itself. We know that with so many options out there, choosing coffee can feel overwhelming. In a world where you’re constantly making decisions, we want to make this one simple, fun, and seamless. Let us take care of the curation, so all you have to do is brew and enjoy.

cream tops have been trending for a while now, and who doesn’t love it. its such a sweet treat, but who else thinks it’s time to bring back black coffee? 👀 as someone who is passionately in love with black coffee, my goal is to introduce black coffee in a format that’s approachable and not pretentious. yes, it can be super pretentious, but let’s also not confuse that for passion. if you cant visit me or @peel.rpd for coffee, here are some amazing recommendations (in no particular order) for shops i personally enjoy going to for delicious black coffee. @loquatcoffee @wyndcoffee @ondocoffee.co @mandarincoffeestand @moimcoffeela @re__caphe @hopperandburr

ep.2 (building an unconventional brand): cost of building a brand worthwhile If you’re a business owner, I’m sure you’ve had those moments—when you’re in crisis mode, and it feels like everything is working against you. You start to wonder if it’s even worth it. That’s where I’ve been. And honestly, I’ve thought about giving up. But something about this season has forced me to pause and reflect on what I’m actually trying to build. The hard pill I’ve had to swallow is that nothing great can be done in a short amount of time. And I think I’ve been so focused on the end goal that I forgot the importance of the steps in between. In my last video, I shared that I’m looking for a residency—a place to serve, grow community, and earn your trust. That’s not optional, and even if the return is small, serving coffee is a must. It’s been easy to look for shortcuts. But if I want peel to become the brand I know it can be, I’ve got to put my head down and do the work—even when it’s hard or uncomfortable. So if you’re a business owner feeling stuck, you’re not alone. Just remember: Rome wasn’t built in a day.

ep.1 (building an unconventional brand): WHAT NOW?? my red flag is that i love starting new series 🤣 hi, i’m a videographer who started a coffee brand—without ever planning to open a shop. it’s been about 7 months since the launch of @peel.rpd , and when i first started, i was pretty adamant that a brick-and-mortar café wasn’t the end goal. i wanted peel to be more than just a shop. i wanted it to be a platform—one that highlights the beauty of black coffee in unexpected ways through programs like omakase, coffee curation, thoughtfully designed products, and even intentional short films.  the list goes on. but right now, most people just see peel as a pop-up serving cool drinks. and honestly, i get it. the vision’s bigger—but to build it, i need capital. and the most accessible way to do that? i need to serve more coffee. pop-ups are somewhat rewarding, but they’re also exhausting and inconsistent, and without a shop, i’m limited. so here’s the next move: i’m looking for a residency… a temporary home and a place to build peel with more consistency and care. A coffee shop still isn’t my end goal, but for now, I’m going to have to operate like one.
