@stephenhyde has been recognized as One of the Top Two Cycling Coaches in USA 2025 for VO2max, MLSS, FatMax, LT1 Improvement, based on performance improvement data observed within the @inscyd_ platform during the 2025 season. The nomination is derived from analysis of anonymized athlete performance changes across sport, region, and defined metrics recorded during this period, and is determined by measurable performance outcomes rather than applications or popularity voting. Congrats, Stephen!

Pretty worn out from @cyclesmartinc Cross camp but rolling with a full cup! The official kick off to the CX seas for me is always camp and it's always a great way to shake off the cobwebs and get my head in the game. I may not be racing anymore but I still love riding my bike and having fun with all our awesome athletes. Don't let CX take you by surprise this year! I am accepting clients of all abilities currently. You can see the Cycle-Smart coaching levels on our website. /stephen-hyde Photo @hautedamned

Our next ‘cross camp coach announcement is Stephen Hyde! Like all of our previous coach announcements, Stephen is part of the @cyclesmartinc / @jamfund legacy, and brings an unparalleled set of skills to his coaching approach. His passion for progression and evolution of knowledge is at the center of everything he does, and key to his coaching craft. On the bike, Stephen’s technical skills honed through years of brakeless BMX set him apart from others in the field. These skills combined with a relentless drive to perfect his training process, working with @alphonsealbert as his coach, catapulted him to the top of US professional cyclocross and on to Europe. In Stephen’s ‘cross career he earned three elite national Cyclocross titles, two Pan-American titles, multiple USA Cycling Pro CX overall titles, and won the overall US Pro CX Cup, among others. Stephen was a six-time member of the US cyclocross national team and quickly found his footing helping his teammates while winning domestic titles and racing 30 World Cups. The transition from athlete to national team coach, and eventually Cycle-Smart coach, was a natural progression. We’re proud to have Stephen back home on staff at Cycle-Smart, and once again a coach at this year’s camp. Stephen will be leading the “A group” with @jpows , so if you’re a higher category racer wondering if our ‘cross camp is for you, you won’t get a better opportunity than this.

We are ONE MONTH out from the 24th edition of the #cscrosscamp, and registration is already half full for both the weekend skills camp and our Monday-Tuesday training camp add-on. If you want to be faster this fall, whatever your level, the season starts here on August 2nd and 3rd. For our under-15 riders, we’ve added a separate group with a greatly discounted fee. Camp will fill and spots are limited, so don’t miss your chance to spend an amazing weekend in Western Mass. with the @cyclesmartinc coaches. Reg is open on @bikereg .

If you’re interested, my Easthampton photo show is still up at @smallovenbakes through the rest of this month! This being my first and only public install has been so gratifying and special. I’ve always been extremely self conscious about how I describe myself or what I feel I “am”. I’m leaning so much harder into all the little things that make up who I am and not tying myself to limiters such as Photographer, bike racer, Gardner, dad, etc… and I have decided to share more of what I do on this account rather than having a pure photo account to different differentiate on those separate parts of me

Happy Mother’s Day to the greatest mother I’ve ever had. The one and only. The one who got me outside into nature. The one who pushed me to be me at all times. @phyde_ and the best damn Nana ever.

Today was my first experience in forestry. I got to plant a few hundred trees in some slash areas in a managed town property in Goshen. It was all day with the flies, the birds, the red efts, the foam flower, the start flower and the rest of the woods. It was a solid day of work with a solid crew and I cannot wait for more!

We cut down three maples from our front yard over the last few weeks. I’ve been busy using them limbs to make this 6’ high x 2.5’ deep dead hedge for all the critters to live in. We will be planting native vine and shrub around it as we go. There is no such thing as “yard waste”.
