the sequence of the greek alphabet is transcribed optophonetically: via the intermediate step of the latin script, the letters were converted into phonetic signs. the shape of the sound waves corresponds to the german pronunciation – »Phonograph« typeface in use.

»100 Letters Grid« represents the alphabet. the names of the greek letters add up to 100 characters in latin script. the design was based on the strict grid of the »FLEXTRON Modular Font System«. without spaces, break characters and line spacing, the typesetting is adapted to the geometric reduction of monospaced letters: the text as a compact graphic with a technical aura, as a coherent, closed construction. a complex matrix of lines is created that makes the boundaries disappear: an open sphere is created between characters and ornaments, functionality and abstraction, text and image at the limits of legibility.
