✨ Sharing the second of our three new #ClimateActionMurals just completed in West Chelsea, NYC –along the High Line with artist @vesod ! 🎨🌿 Titled “Hydropolis,” the mural reflects on the essential value of water—both blue and green—and the urgent need to protect the full hydrological cycle to prevent the devastating impacts of floods, droughts, fires, and famine. We often think of blue water—lakes, rivers, and aquifers—as the whole picture. But green water—the moisture stored in soil and vegetation—is just as vital. Without green water, ecosystems cannot regenerate, agriculture suffers, and communities become increasingly vulnerable to natural disasters. This mural is a tribute to water in all its forms and cycles. Set against a New York City backdrop of skyscrapers and trains, it invites viewers to reflect on the water surrounding them and its essential flow. Circular shapes connect the Hudson River to the clouds, recreating the natural movement of water and opening portals to imagined worlds. From the horizon rises a floating mountain, its slopes spilling into waters that transform into trains—symbolizing the continuous circulation of water above and below ground. The subway also subtly nods to the High Line’s rail history. At the forefront, a girl with an umbrella dissolving into vapor becomes a bridge between water and sky—reminding us that we, too, are made of water and share the responsibility to protect this vital cycle. 💧✨ Created in partnership with @unep and @FAO to support the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration—a worldwide initiative to reverse nature loss and revive critical ecosystems, and also in partnership with @theclimategroup as part of the official 2025 #climateweeknyc conversations. Most of the world’s food and ecosystems actually depend on green water — the invisible moisture stored in soil and vegetation — rather than the blue water we see in rivers, lakes, and aquifers. Today 99% of the world’s population breathes unsafe air, with the impacts falling disproportionately on women, children, the elderly and low-income communities. The artwork depicts a young Manhattan woman surrounded by dark purple skies—a reference to the 2023 wildfires that blanketed NYC in smoke. Yet, as we zoom in on her, she breathes deeply and meditatively, creating a halo of light from which life can emerge again. Around her swirl leaves of acacia, oak, and maple trees, alongside the resilient Opuntia Humifusa cactus, still rooted between the High Line’s train tracks. Both fragile and strong, this cactus anchors renewal—purifying the air and offering refuge to life. Sorry for my absence for the last several months. My brother and I have really been going through one. We lost my dad unexpectedly on Christmas Day. This guy’s energy lit up and commanded every room he walked into. Im still pretty numb, as we have a lot on our hands with my mom and her care… I have have felt glimpses of the emptiness over the last few days that I will never see him again. He gave so much to so many and what he left behind will be his legacy. We miss him immensely. RIP Dad…. As he always said to me when he was done with our phone calls… “let me get out of your hair”… I love you, I was a lucky girl. ❤️‍🩹

I just had to post the newest piece of art that arrived today. I am a firm believer that art creates the soul of a home and this piece is pure magic. I really wanted to just post the artist, @yoakimbelanger , because more people need to know about this man. What a beautiful mind! Go to his page to see the video of it being made. . The colors… that it’s on polished stainless steel… the texture and that calming gaze from the subject stole my heart not even seeing it in person. But in person, it’s even more magnetic. .
