It’s taken me a bit over a week to process my visit to an intentional community/healing retreat center I lived at with Steve in the farthest reaches of east county San Diego for 13 months and all of 2019. Living in a half finished barn, work trade, owning almost nothing, no money, just lots of diving *in*. The land had its natural way of chipping away at my ego, redefining my comfort, redefining my reality, never bored, felt fully tuned in, ect… topographically I went from Portland “city life” to 160 acres at the edge of the US border, heat of political turmoil, primitive facilities, 45 minutes from a store, two dozen coyotes hunting out the front door kinda life. it was an experience that forever changed me. Beautiful and kinda crazy all at the same time. I’m glad I decided to do it. So if you have your “leave everything and live in a village fantasy,” feel free inquire. I have gone back a handful of times, each time happy to see the steps towards better living comforts, better knowledge of handling a community, and community builds that both integrate and respect the land. It’s leaps and bounds ahead and I hope that momentum remains exponential. The end of 2019 was start of my recent divergence from visual art as I knew it through the scope of painting and commercial art. I’ve been real sentimental about that part of me that feels missing recently and there is a deep part of me that craves it again as a necessity to paint and create a cohesive body of work, including my writing and earth works. Are all the pieces of the puzzle forming? I miss that spark, that ember I’ve been wanting to give oxygen. Do you ever catch yourself holding your breath to long? I’ve been on the precipice of either totally burning out or totally exploding with light and brilliance, aiming to choose the ladder! Slide through the images to see shots from my trip, hiking in the rocks, finding gem stones, fixing my dog’s grave on her 6 year passing anniversary, as well as images and clips from land art and natural pigments meant primarily to speak on on impermanence.

@nitemoves_sf last Friday at @sfeaglebar was a fun turn out. The right folks came out and thanks to every person that came for our first run and supported. I first met @stormyroxx roughly 10 years ago in Portland. He was playing @inigovontier “Friction” and I ran up to him and gave him a compliment because I had never heard darker tracks like that at a gay bar. I was pretty new to the scene at that time. Flash forward several years, I started DJing myself, and Stormy and I have played several times together including the Choices parties I co-hosted in Denver. He’s quite the historian of queer music culture and it’s pretty humbling! He’s a true DJ that knows where his music comes from, someone give this man a radio show or a book deal! It’s been a fun honor to do this new party with him. Both of us sharing similar visual and music taste, enthusiasm, life paths, trash humor, and have been around a lot of layers of various music scenes. We tossed ideas back and forth refining our logo, which has a fun 90s feel. Reminiscent of a comic book font and my graffiti days, it was fun to bounce back and forth on. We don’t want our vibe to be too serious! We have some great ideas for collabs ahead, keeping it local to the SF bay area. If we know anything it’s that parties take on the best life of their own when collaborations form within the community. Hit us up if you have ideas! We grow. I made this silly timelapse video back in March as a joke for friends as I drove across a desolate desert headed into Palm Springs. I took several roads less traveled during my move from Denver to the Bay Area. I take a lot of roads less traveled in my life. I’m maybe a bit too curious and brave for my own good sometimes, but, ironically anxious. What a combo! Non-linear brain type. My drive is so deep to be free from all these constructs we create that make us all so miserable. Yet, I need to learn to find joy participating in them again with awareness. Once you see the patterns of your own behaviors within the world around you and the greater patterns of others, you can’t unsee them. The only step forward is in breaking them. This past year I left everything I had built and created in Denver and tried to isolate myself in the woods of Northern California in hopes to create space for myself for my creative endeavors and personal growth. It didn’t work out and I spent a lot of this year trying to find comfort and security met by road block after road block while not achieving my creative goals. It’s hard to think I tried to escape that only to be back in it. My soul is real tender. I’ve landed in North Bay in a cute spot, music and art studio mostly set up this past month. The cheapest rent I’ve paid in years with a super sweet landlord to match. A huge fruit orchard as my front yard and hummingbirds that squeak at me every time I leave my house. Even though my goals for creativity were not met this year. I did land in the space that I feel can nurture those seeds into fruit in 2026. All I can say is thank you to my soul friends, special men in my life that have supported me wholeheartedly along this journey, and the very special family that has taking me under their wing here in the Bay Area and keeps growing. Thank you so deeply to those who commissioned, booked, and believed in me. My soul feels more like home here than anywhere else. I hope you all know who you are, I try to verbalize my gratitude as much as possible. I know I need to get these hands on the wheel in 2026 to show up with my greatest potential for this crazy world. ❤️✌️👽
