“Please join us for the third installment in our Monthly Music Clinics series, featuring Seattle based multi-instrumentalist Steve Moore (aka Stebmo). Titled Being and The Blues, this talk will examine the fundamental nature of music through the harmonic series and illuminate it’s connection to the human experience. Stemming from his 2012 book Plato, Pythagoras, Polyrhythm, this will be an expanded version of a lecture which he has been giving nightly as part of Earth concerts around the United States. Stebmo’s music blends jazz roots in improvisation with compositional coherence and a cinematic flair. Known for his work as a member of the bands Earth and sunnO))), he has also recorded and toured with a litany of songwriters such as Sufjan Stevens, Neko Case and First Aid Kit, as well as composer/violist Eyvind Kang and guitarist Bill Frisell.”

the run of tours celebrating 20 years of ‘Hex’ with @earthseattle have come to a close. these shows were some of the most musically rewarding in my life… we play ‘Hex’ one last time in Berlin FEB 2026.
in the meantime, i’ll be playing trombone with @thisisdeepseadiver next Friday at the Paramount in Seattle and then giving a talk on harmonics entitled ‘Being and The Blues’ at Kerry Hall for @stg_ece ::: it will be a slightly expanded version of the talk i gave opening for @earthseattle on these tours and there will be much more to come soon. please come out if you can! DEC 2 6:30pm pre-registration recommended but not required. i will post more details soon….
