2023 was tough, and at times, quite a sad and anxiety-inducing year, both personally and financially, but also one of accelerated growth and important new alliances for me. May 2024 bring us all closer together (and closer to solvency) doing the work we love. Huge thanks to all the talented DPs Directors and Producers that trusted me to help bring their creative visions to life and to the hardworking camera crews that supported us.

A couple weeks ago I contacted one of my favourite UK Artists, @petejosef to see if he’d be up for collaborating on a live video. I knew he’d recently constructed a wee studio cabin and I thought it would be a beautiful visual environment to complement his latest release. It was a real joy to film with Pete, Migs and Eli and I’m happy to share a section of it here (full vid link in bio).
Shot on Ronin 4D with @cookeoptics SP3 (except for opening shot on full vid - Leica R 19mm). I had a lot of fun operating this piece of tech both on the tripod as a mini remote head and as a compact roving camera, allowing me to get through very tight spaces but with a fluidity closer to what I get on my much bigger Steadicam rig. I also took a few portraits on my 1956 Rolleiflex and Canon EOS3 on Kodak Portra. One of the portraits is now on Pete’s artist profile. Always a joy to marry old and new technology with soulful artistry and I highly recommend checking out Pete’s fresh EP on Spotify for more.
