The Mediterranean bike ramblings are back. This month we’re talking about this Stayer Staytb collab, my personal project that ended up being unveiled at Bespoked bike show. Despite it starting as a show bike and a bit of a concept bike as it were, it is very much a bike I intend to use. I wanted to surprise the audience as well as my self with this..things I would have ordinarily said hmm not for me, ended up becoming manifest..like a triple crankset, drop bars and friction shifting. A great example of a new frame with old groupset. This will be my tourer..great for long journeys. Massive thanks to @stayercycles for letting me loose on this and a big thank you to @johnprolly for immortalising it with these amazing shots. Unveiled at the stayer stall at Bespoked a few weekends ago, I present to you this Stayer x Babyldn Staytb! 💥🔫💥🔫 - can’t believe it’s miiiine! Straight up buzzin..not only cus it’s got @chriskingbuzz hubs..but also because it’s got CHRIS KING hubs..my first pair!! First pair of many things..as it so often is with my personal bikes, they are an opportunity to experiment and go outside the box, and I think we’re def outside the box with this one. Bit of back story kids: Stayer released the stAyTB last year as a homage to 80s mountain bikes, albeit with modern fixings like thru axle and disc, and so they axed us if we wanted to have one to play around with for the re-release..and so play we did! Mixing in a mix of parts-bin yesteryear campy and duraace technology ! Yes the two can co-exist! And a whole host of new tasty stuff like the @growtac mechanical brakes, oh my lord! Thanks guys 🙏🏽 and a lush new old stock rapid rise xTR mech 🙂‍↕️ The list goes on and on and on till the break of dawn.. Probably my monalisa..thanks to everyone who helped with this project (@thetravellingmechanic - @bicyclist.cc - @runebicycles - @cyclesmanivelle_reload - @brooksengland - @mkspedal ) I guess we should talk about the color right!? Nah, it’s plain to see..we went cookoo crazy with it..just to announce that @stayercycles now offers their Staytb line in any colour you want and we’ll build them up however you like! 6 more frames in all sizes ready to get that b-side treatment.
